*~*~*EDITED 12/29/2018*~*~*

Note: Some of you may have noticed that this story is a little darker than my other's. Its supposed to be that way for the story, I promise the whole story will not be dark. But you have to realize with the information that I gave you last chapter that Emma's life has not been simple and light. I just wanted to get that out there!!!

{2 year's later}

We were all sitting around Matt and Val's back yard having a BBQ and celebrating the guy's making the S.W.A.T. team. And by all of us I meant, all of us. Of course Matt and Val, Brian and Michelle, Jimmy and Leana, Johnny and Lacey, Zacky and I. Although that was not surprising, when the guy's weren't working you'd usually find all of us at eachother's houses. Sometimes it was quite irriating though to be around the group all the time.

In the past two year's at almost 26 year's old not much has changed, since that night on the ridge. I still won't open up about it to anybody, not even Zacky. I tried going to a therapist that the FBI had, but I really had no intention on opening up to a complete stranger. No one need's to know what happend that night.

There have been good thing's though that have happend. Brian and Michelle had their first baby a year ago, my little nephew is just the most adorable little boy. Johnny and Lacey were finally married almost a year ago, their still in that honeymoon stage which is sicking. Hmmmmm what else? Oh Papa Gates got promoted to lead in his unit. Which leaves me with two new young FBI agents to report to. But Papa Gates trained them and their pretty good.

Oh I think the biggest thing for me though is finding out in the past year and a half. That my older brother Tyler the one I thought Bryce had killed was not dead but was indeed alive. After he had spent month's in the ICU recovering from his injury's, he had been placed in the witness protection program also.

The only reason I had found out was because one of my new agents had been his agent. I can't explain how I felt when I found out that I actually had a living relative out there. I gotten to speak to him a couple of times, but mostly we write to eachother. Its still very dangerous for us with Bryce out there still.

Zack and I, well where do I begin there? Two year's ago our seven year marriage was on the verge of going down the drain. We actually had worked on alot of thing's in our marriage and even went to counsiling. Even though I wouldn't open up about some thing's, we still manged to mend thing's between us. Well that was until recently and now thing's are going down the drain again. Zacky doesn't think they are, but he's wrong I know they are.

I came back to reality and looked around the table at my friend's, well family eating and laughing.

"You ok baby?" he whispered, leaning over to my ear.

"Yeah I'm fine" I replied, putting on a fake smile.

Zack looked over my facial features and I prayed he wouldn't see through my lie. I mean after being together for nine year's he could read me like a book. Seeming satisfied with what he saw, he nodded and pressed his lip's to my cheek. The coolness of his snakebites and the warmness of his lips still sent shiver's through my body.

"Love you" he said, pulling back.

"Me too" I replied.

Zacky smiled at me and sat back in his seat again. Resting his right hand on my thigh and grabbing his beer and taking a drink. Going right back to his conversation with Jimmy and Matt, argueing over some baseball game that had been on.

Zacky's cell phone began ringing on the table. He glanced at it and a smile came to his lips. He picked it up off the table and stood up.

"Sorry guy's have to take this" he said, than walked away from the table, answering it.

"BRO'S BEFORE HOES, DUDE" Jimmy yelled, after him. Leana frowned at him and smacked his arm. Zacky flicked him the middle finger over his back.

Everyone at the table went silent. Matt looked over his aviator's at Zack and then at me. I plastered a fake smile on my face and stood up.

"Anybody want dessert? I'm going to go get it" I said.

I didn't wait for a response and quickly walked inside Matt and Val's kitchen. I walked over to the kitchen sink and placed my hands on the counter. Taking deep breath's I looked up and out the kitchen window, that faced the back yard. I watched as Zacky paced the yard talking on his phone smileing. I didn't hear anyone come into the kitchen behind me. Until I felt a hand on my back, I looked round and found Michelle frowning at me.

"You ok?" Michelle asked, worridly.

"I'm great Chelle. Why wouldn't I be?" I asked.

"I...I mean...Its just well...Is everything ok between you and Zack?" she finally spit out.

"Yeah. Everything's fine. Why wouldn't it be?" I said, sounding like a broken record.

"Emma, you can tell me the truth. You don't have to put up the fake front with me. We're sister's, you would tell me if something was wrong right?" she asked.

"Of course" I replied.

Michelle frowned again at me and was about to say something else. But luckily I was saved by the back door sliding open and Zacky walking in. He smiled at both of us and walked over to me.

"Hey baby, hey Chelle" he said.

"Well I'm just going to go back out. I'll take the dessert and leave you two to talk" Michelle said, looking at us. Than grabbing the cake and walking back outside.

"Whats up?" I asked, clearing my throat.
