Chapter 24

Zack got out of the bed and pulled on his boxer's back on. Than started to pace back and forth by the side of the bed.

"Zachary James Baker calm down right now" I said, getting off the bed and wrapping the sheet around my body.

"Oh come off of it Emma. I mean really? You want to get mad at me for comeing up with a plan to protect you. But you go behind my back and make one of your own?" Zack snapped, looking at me.

"First of all Zack, Papa Gates and I just made the plan today" I looked at the clock "Oh I mean yesterday" I said, putting a hand on my hip and trying to keep the sheet up with the other.

"Plus your the one going behind peoples back" I stated. I saw Zack's face soften.

"Fine your right. I did go behind your back and I'm sorry" Zack said

"I'm sorry to" I replied

"Look we're not going to get anywhere with this conversation tonight. We're both exhausted and we'll just keep going round and round abou it. Let's just go to sleep and we'll figure it out in the morning" Zack said

"Alright, your right" I said

Zack and I both climbed back into the bed. Zack wrapped his arm's around me and held me tight. Like he was afraid if he didn't I might slip away. As I drifted off to sleep, I felt him kiss my head.

"I love you Emma Baker" Zack whispered

"I love you to" I mumbled, unsure if he heard me.

I woke a couple of hour's later. Zack and my arm's and leg's in tangled mess. The first ray's of light starting to come through the curtain's. I looked over at Zack's sleeping figure. He looked so peaceful asleep, like he had no worries. I quietly and slowly untangled myself from him. I slipped out of the bed and found a shirt and short's and put them on. I walked over to the door and unlocked it.

Griamceing at the clicking sound.

I looked back at the bed to make sure Zack was still asleep. Once I was certain I hadn't woke him. I grabbed the room key off the table and slipped out the door.

I looked around and spotted the vehcile, I was wondered if they were there. Decideing I would be nice I made my way into the lobby of the motel and went over to the area, where the complimentary breakfast was at. I grabbed four coffee cup's and filled them with the sludge. I shook my head, did no one know how to make coffee anymore. I put the cup's in a cup holder and grabbed some pastries.

I walked back outside and over to the SUV. Even through the tinted window's I could tell the two idoits were sleeping on the job. I chuckled to myself and rolled my eye's. I knocked on the driver's side window and smiled when they both jumped. They rolled down the window.

"Boy I feel safe and protected with you two moron's sleeping on the job" I said sarcastically.

I handed two cup's through the window and than the pastries. I took a sip of my coffee and grimaced at the taste.

"Morning Sunshine" Jimmy said cheerfully, than took a drink "Aha Morning Sludge"

"We weren't sleeping. Just resting our eye's sis" Brian said
