SUNDAY

Though today was a date with Taylor, I somewhat dreaded the impending event. Thoughts of Nick would occasionally cross my head, if occasionally meant every few seconds. I questioned my feelings for Taylor and Nick, contemplating what the hell I am doing and what I need to do. Despite my endless efforts of trying to sorry though my mixed emotions, I still came up short of emotional answers and gave up. After thinking about this for an hour or so, I arose from the creme chair placed in the corner of my room to initiate my date routine. I picked up my phone, noticing I had two missed calls from Nick and one voicemail. I scoffed and deleted them. I wasn't in the mood. I closed my phone application and opened my text messages.

Me : Hey, what's the date ? Dress code?

Taylor(: : party at a guys house I got invited to. u can go casual, but I prefer sexy(;

I playfully rolled my eyes at his reply and set my phone down. I walked into my wardrobe and picked out my best dress that was, thankfully, not completely revealing. I picked out the accessories and shoes before walking into the bathroom. I took an adequately timed shower and dried my body come platelet when finished. I took the blow drier from under my vanity and plugged it into the bathroom wall.

After my hair was dried and straightened, I walked back into my room and placed my undergarments on. I placed the tight, breast-slit black dress on and paired it with jet black pumps. I walked to my room's vanity and sat in the white chair that was paired with the makeup table. I got out my needed make up and attempted to perfect my makeup for tonight.

After makeup, I went to the jewelry stand placed in the corner of my dresser and opened the adjacent moveable mirror. Despite the endless amount of tries, I finally decided on a pair of black hanging earnings and a diamond-surrounded black ruby ring. I looked in the mirror one last time before checking my phone to see a text from Taylor.

Taylor(: : on my way. see you at eight thirty!

I looked at the time displayed on my phone, realizing it was, coincidentally, 6:59 PM. I walked downstairs, thankful that my aunt was at work, because she would never approve of my appearance.

"Where do you think you're going like that?" Jake questioned adultly. I rolled my eyes before there was a knock at the door. I walked to the door slowly, hoping I looked okay. You only care if you look good for Nick, my thoughts taunted me. I rolled my eyes to myself before turning the door knob to see someone other than Taylor.

"Nick, what're you doing here?" I asked, come platelet surprised as I moved my hair around frantically. I sighed internally before he responded.

"I know you don't want to see me, but Jason talked to me when we ran into each other at the mall and explained that Blake kissed you," Nick rambled. I looked back to my brother, who was intently eavesdropping on our unexpected conversation.

I walked up to the door, hoping to redeem myself to Jamie. I rose my hand to the door and knocked quickly. A few moments later, the door opened, and Jamie approached, beautifully clothed in a sexy black dress. I shook the thoughts away when she called my name and questioned my arrival. I explained my reason and she looked back to one of her older brothers, who was listening to our conversation. She walked out of the house and into the porch with me, shutting the door behind her.

"I felt bad when I found out," I confessed, hoping she would forgive me.

"Nick, you obviously weren't sorry because you were another girl's boyfriend and cuddled her right in front of me!" I exclaimed.

"You kissed that douche right I front of me!" He shot back, getting closer to me.

"Taylor is not a douche! You are! We weren't dating and never will! Don't call me, don't text me," she said, pulling her handbag up. She pulled a folded piece of paper out of her pocket and shoved it into my hands.

"Take it back. It obviously wasn't meant for me," she said, walking to her door. She glanced back at me quickly before slamming the door behind her. I unraveled the paper, seeing the note I had wrote her just a few weeks before. I sighed. Suddenly, a car pulled into her driveway and Taylor got out. He approached the front of the house.

"What're you doing here?" Taylor asked.

"Honestly, I don't know anymore," I said, walking away.

"Taylor," I called before I got in my car, "treat her right, because I obviously can't."

He nodded and turned back to the door, which Jamie was walking out of as I drove out of her , keeping us driveway.

"So, did you talk to Nick?" I asked Taylor as we rode to the party in Taylor's car.

"Yeah," he replied shortly.

"What'd he say?" I hesitantly questioned.

"That I should treat you right since he can't," he explained. I sighed. Taylor patted my leg reassuringly, keeping his hand there the whole ride. I smiled at his touch. You still miss Nick, my mind taunted.
