Lucy
The next few days were the worst of my life. Even worse then... What the professor did to me.He is dead now, I scolded myself, and thank god for that.
For the past three days, I've stayed locked up in my room, not eating.
I've been feeling nauseous since the night that father died.
I haven't thrown up, but just got that feeling as though I'm about to. The pain in my eyes stopped yesterday, and I'm scared to go near a mirror and not see my pale blue, almost silver eyes staring back at me.
The pain in my back has subsided a little, but now it's itchy. Not only that, but I've had a migraine for three hours straight.
Overall I feel like crap.
Gloria assumes that I need time to grieve, so she has left me alone for the time being.
I've been thinking about reading the rest of the file, but there isn't enough light in here and if I open the curtains, I'm gong to be blinded both because of the light, and because the files said that my eyesight would enhance.
I've tried to eat the food that Gloria gives me, but my stomach can't hold down.
The only comfort I have is the adjustable air
conditioning.Once again my body felt the need to puke up nothing because I hadn't eaten, so I dragged myself to the ensuite and turned the lights to their finest setting.
It still blinded me, but it sucked it up and rushed to the toilet.
I dry retched as my stomach contracted, forcing me to make gagging noises.
After my body decided to give up and stop making me look like I was having an episode, I slowly got up to rinse out my mouth of regurgitated spit.
As a got to the sink, I noticed two things in the mirror.
When I had managed the time to change into some loose fitting pjs they were baggy, but now, specifically on my back, there were two lumps stretching the shirt from my upper shoulder blade to my waist.
The other thing I noticed that my eye had somehow paled from being a very pale blue to practically white. I looked like I was blind, in other words.
I knew why it had happened but it still freaked me out to the point my eyes widened.
For me, that is a big thing.
I slowly turned around to lift up my shirt. Underneath it, the skin was stretched almost to the point of braking. The two lumps were much bigger than I had first imagined.
I pulled my pyjama top back down lightly, as not to create too much friction against the already taunt skin.
But wait a moment, didn't the file say that I would also 'grow' a tail?
I quickly looked down at my calfskin and in the dim light I could clearly make out two smaller lumps on each of my ankles. I had no idea how that was going to work, but I guess I would see.
As I had already seen the other lumps on my back, my facial expression remained slack as I examined the 'leg lumps'. They were itchy as well, which probably meant that they would 'sprout' soon.
I decided that it was time to read the rest of the file, considering my eyes had adjusted greatly to the light.
I walked out of the ensuite and towards the light switch.
