When I awoke, Theon was sitting at my side, his head bowed as if he were praying. My body was so sore and I felt exhausted. It was then I remembered what had happened in the Throne Room.

"I'm so sorry," I croaked. "I know how much you wanted this."

Theon looked up at me with tired eyes. "It's not your fault," his voice was flat. "At least you're okay. I should go write to my father." He walked away, leaving me helpless. I wanted to cry but I just wasn't strong enough.

"Princess," Out from the shadows Jojen stepped forward. "How did this happen?"

I scoffed. "I suppose witches are infertile after all. I lost our child, Jojen. I've lost so much. I lost you, and now I've lost Theon. My people hate me. I can't even bear children!" I turned my head away so Jojen wouldn't see the tears welling in my eyes.

I felt him crawl into the bed next to me. "You'll never lose me. I will always love you. And you will have children, Princess. These things happen to everyone. Even Targaryens lost their children."

I turned to laugh quietly. "The Targaryens married their siblings; that probably had something to do with only one member of their House being alive currently."

"And I am definitely not your brother," he smiled and went to put an arm around me but stopped. "Are you still angry with me?"

I lightly shook my head. "No, Jojen, I forgive you. You were just trying to save me from having to bear another man's child. I'm sorry too. I said some awful things and I acted foolishly to get back at you."

Jojen kissed my nose and gently pulled me to him. "It hurt so much to watch you with him. Lehna, you are my light. You saved me. As long as your feelings for Theon were not true, I forgive you."

I hesitated. Did I love Theon? Were my feelings just a by-product of revenge? "Of course they were," I lied. "I love only you, Jojen." Oh gods, what had I done?

He smiled again. I missed seeing his brilliant smile. I knew I loved Jojen a thousand times more than I loved Theon, but at the end of this I could not have them both.

"I missed you so much," I whispered and buried my face in his chest. "I will never leave you again." His hands ran through my hair and he kissed me. As always, his kiss sent a flow of warmth through my body. I never wanted to stop kissing him. I pulled him closer and wrapped my arms around his neck.

He pulled away, breathless. "I hate that I am so in love with you and cannot tell the world how lucky I am that you are so in love with me too." I smiled and kissed him again.

"You have managed to bring a bit of happiness back into my life. I fear Theon blames me for losing the baby. It pains me that I let everyone down. I dreamt of a blond-haired, green-eyed baby with a bright smile, and now I will never have that." My face fell as the tears came back.

Jojen held my face in his hands. "I will find a way. I want a family with you, Lehna, even if I must watch from afar as you raise our child with another man. I would withstand any pain to see you happy."

"Do you think it was magic related? Did I lose our baby because I'm a witch?" I couldn't help but feel guilty.

"I don't know, Princess, but I will find out." He went to get up but I grabbed his arm.

"Stay, please," I begged. "Just hold me for a little while longer."

"Anything for you, my love," he said and pulled me into him. I fell asleep with the man I love holding me in his arms.
