I looked at Levi in shock as he fell to the floor and curled up in a ball.
"Isabel.... Farlan... Why didn't you let me fight for us? I could've done it alone...."
My face softened,
"Levi?"
"Eren please leave"
"But..."
"No one has seen me like this"
He started crawling to the bathroom
"And no one ever will"
He slammed the door and I heard it lock. I ran to the door.
"Levi let me in"
"Go away Eren.... Please"
"Levi i swear to god i will break this door down. Let. Me. In."
He turned the shower on, most likely to tune me out. I got mad and punched the door before pacing and pulling at my hair.
"Fuck!"
What is all this about? Who the hell are Isabel and Farlan? I want answers, but he's not giving them to me! I just want to fucking know these things!
"Today's the anniversary, Eren"
I looked at Hanji, who was standing in the doorway.
"Anniversary of what?"
"The day his friends died".
"Shit.... Way to be an ass, Eren"
"No it wasn't your fault. I'm surprised he even came out of his room today. He usually takes the day off"
I shook my head,
"No... I saw that he was in pain, but I still yelled at him. I'm such an ass hole"
"Then make it up to him"
"How? He won't even let me in"
She smiled,
"Then wait. Eventually, the water will turn cold or he'll fall asleep"
A green flare went off in the distance and she turned away.
"That's my cue. Good luck Eren".
After saying that, she left without another word. I slid down the wall and put my face in my hands.
"I'm so fucking stupid"
I tapped on the door with my finger,
"Levi.... I'm sorry.. I didn't know"
Silence. I waited a few seconds and heard a crashing sound.
"Levi?! What's going on in there?!"
I desperately tried to open the door.
I heard him scream and another crashing sound came. I started pounding on the door.
"Levi please! Let me in!"
I screamed for Hanji, but she was gone.
"SOMEONE HELP! ANYONE! PLEASE!"
I finally managed to break the lock on the door and get in. When I opened the door, I saw Levi on the floor surrounded by broken glass and blood.
"L-Levi...."
I stood frozen in the doorway as he looked up at me with a blank expression.
"I'm fine. Go away"
"B-But... I don't want to leave you"
"Why? You will eventually".
I took a step towards him and he made no attempt to stop me.
"What makes you think I'm going to leave?"
"They all do, Eren".
I dropped to my knees in front of him, ignoring the pain of the glass sinking into my skin.
"But I won't. People may have left you in the past, but I won't. I won't leave you".
"That's what they all said Eren!"
I grabbed his face and kissed him softly and he soon started to kiss back. I pulled away and looked into his eyes.
"Levi listen to me. I will never leave you. I'm not going to die. I'm going to be right here with you. I'm going to stay and annoy you for a long time"
He looked at me with glassy eyes.
"But you're always in danger"
"And you always save me. Or i find a way out of it. I'm a titan, remember? It takes a lot to kill me".
He shook his head,
"It takes a strike to the back of the neck"
"Yeah.. But who's gonna do that?"
"The military police".
I sighed and grabbed his face,
"I. Am. Not. Leaving. Your. Side. Not today. Not tomorrow. Not ever".
He looked down at his bloody fists and sniffled,
"Okay"
I pulled him into a hug and we stayed like that for a while. He buried his face into my shoulder.
"Can you help me clean up?"
"Of course"
I kissed the top of his head and got up. He started picking the glass out of his hands and I got a rag to clean up the blood.
"I'm sorry you had to see that"
"It's okay. Don't apologize"
He got up and grabbed the broom before starting to sweep up the shards of glass. I got down on the floor and started to wipe up the blood. I looked up at him as he turned the shower off and threw the glass away. I got up and rinsed the rag in the sink. He came up and hugged me from behind, which made me jump but I soon melted into his arms.
"Thank you"
"Your welcome"
"Come to bed? Stay with me?"
I turned around and grabbed his hands, kissing them gently.
"Of course"
He smiled weakly as I pulled him towards the bed and sat down. He sat in my lap and wrapped his arms around my neck.
"Comfortable?"
"Yes actually"
I chuckled and looked at him.
"I love you"
"According to you, I'm forced to accept that"
"Yep"
He flicked my nose and I squeezed my eyes shut.
"Oww"
"Aww sorry"
He kissed my nose, which caused me to scrunch it up and that made him smile. God I love his smile. I rarely get to see it, so I cherish it whenever he lets it show. I laid down and he laid on top of me with his chin on my chest. I smiked at him and wrapped my arms around him. He sighed in contempt and closed his eyes. I pulled the covers over us and closed my eyes, letting the sweet sensation of sleep overcome my body. All I smelled after that were trees and cleaning supplies. He always smelled like that. And I loved it for some reason...... It was comforting for me. I hope that I'll always be able to fall asleep like this. Curled up with him under the covers is the best.
