EREN'S POV
i woke up in Armin's arms and i looked at my surroundings. Every cadet, and some members of the Garrison Regiment were surrounding me, Armin, and Mikasa. Mikasa was standing in front of me with her blades out and ready to attack. My eyes widened as i saw everyone's blades pointed at us.
Those blades are used to kill titans.... Why are they pointing them at us?
The instructor spoke up and asked me what i was. I was confused by the question. What did he mean?
"Answer me Yeager! What are you?! Human or titan?!"
I opened my mouth to answer, but no sound came out. What was he talking about? What...... Did they think i was a titan?
"I.... I don't understand the question sir!"
"What?! It's a simple question! Are you a human or a titan?!"
My heart was pounding and i felt like i was going to throw up. I didn't remember anything..... The last thing i remembered was saving Armin..... everythings blurry after that.
What happened while i was out?
"Prove that you are not hostile towards humanity yeager! Answer the damn question!"
Still... No sound would come out of my mouth when i tried to answer.
"Ready the cannons!"
My eyes widened at his words.
"Last chance Yeager! Human or titan?!"
I stayed silent for a few seconds as memories of my entire life with Mikasa and Armin flooded my mind, before i gathered up the courage to speak,
"I....I am a human being sir!!"
"Lies!"
He raised his arm and as it started to come down, Mikasa grabbed me and attempted to help me escape. I knew we wouldn't make it up the wall before the the shell would make contact with the ground in front of us. I escaped from Mikasa's grip and bit my thumb, causing a flash of light. Before i realized what i did, my hand was stuck inside the nape of a disintegrating titan.
What the hell is going on?!

What the hell is this?!
Armin looked up at me in fear and Mikasa looked unfazed by the sudden transformation. My titan body was falling apart, causing dirt and dust to fly everywhere and block everyone's view of us. They were probably reloading the cannons... They'd be done in a few seconds. I came up with two plans.
1: Armin would do everything in his power to convince everyone that at wasn't hostile towards humanity.
2: I would escape up the wall alone, to prevent Armin and Mikasa from getting executed for helping me.
I was going to let Armin decide on what the plan was, considering the fact that he would be up front, giving some sort of speech to everyone. I gave him 15 seconds to decide before theh would have the cannons reloaded. His eyes showed so much emotion, but his face was blank. He stood up and dropped his gear, running towards the crowd and yelling up at them about how i wasn't a threat to humanity. The instructor wasn't buying it, and as soon as some people started dropping their blades, he told them not to fall for our "trick".
Armin saluted the instructor,
"I am a soldier who gave his heart to humanity! I am standing here in front of you, telling you that he is not a threat! But if i have to die for this cause, then i will do so with pride!"
He stayed frozen in place, not daring to twitch a muscle, as he waited for everyone's reaction. He opened his eyes as the instructor raised his arm to signal the cannons. My eyes grew wide and i prepared to escape up the wall. As his arm started to come down to signal the cannons to fire, General Pixis grabbed his arm and stopped him.
"Stop this nonsense. Look at the incredible salute this soldier is giving you".
I sighed in relief and Armin's posture loosened and relaxed slightly.
That was way too damn close

I walked with General Pixis along the top of the wall. He leaned over the edge and looked down at the titans that scratched at the wall.
"Damn. I wouldn't mind getting eaten if it was a kick ass female titan".
I stayed silent as he took out his flask and contiued walking.
"Would you care for a swig?"
I hesitated and took the flask from his hands. I looked at it for a split second and took a big sip of the burning liquid. My eyes widened and i spit it out.
Damn how do people drink this stuff?
We continued walking along the wall as he asked me questions about my supposed titan power. I glanced over at Mr. Hannes and he returned my stare. I pointed down, trying to tell him to get back to work, causing him to scoff and slowly return to his job. We walked for another minute before he stopped and brought up the boulder in the Shiganshina district.
"Our best bet at sealing the gate and reclaiming wall maria is that huge boulder. But we don't know how to lift it"
He paused for a second,
"You want to prove that you are not hostile towards humanity, correct?"
"Y-Yes sir".
"You should be able to lift the boulder and use it to seal the gate. Can you do it?"
I thought about it for a second,
"I'm not entirely sure. I still don't have control of this titan power. So i don't know if i can or not".
"Yes of course. That was a stupid question. Let me rephrase that. Will you do it?"
I looked at him in the eyes,
"Yes sir. I will".

"ATTENTION!!!!!"
General Pixis' voice was heard above everyone's panicked state, even though he was still on top of the wall.
"Here is the plan! We will proceed to reclaim wall maria. If you remember from the attack 5 years ago, there is a boulder near the gate. That is where this boy comes in!"
I stepped forward.
"Cadet Eren Yeager is the successful subject of science and experiments. He is now able to transform into a titan and fight on our side. He will lift the boulder and carry it to the gate. He will then use the boulder to seal the gate!"
Slight panic started to arise from people who didn't want to go through another battle.
"I understand that some of you may not want to go through this again! Anyone who has lived through the horror of the titans will be hereby excused without concequences!"
It started with one person, then two, three, four, and then roughly 100 people turned and began walking away. General Pixis looked at the remaining people and his mouth twisted into a small scowl.
"Those of you that remain, be prepared for battle!"

A group of elite soldiers were assigned to me, to protect me from the other titans. I only knew who three of the people were. There was Mikasa, Rico, and squad leader Ian.... And a couple of other people.
General Pixis looked over at us,
"Move out!"
I looked back at Armin and the other cadets and turned away to run the other way. They were assigned to the squad that would act as a distraction to the titans. I say 'squad' but it was actually everyone but my squad. They had to lure the titans to the corner of the city to keep my job easy.
Anyway! I ran along the top of the wall and listened to everyone yell at me to not screw this up. I told them i was going to be good, and they rolled their eyes. We neared the boulder and we jumped from the wall, activating our gear, and swung from building to building. When i got to the boulder, i threw myself in the air and bit down on my thumb, causing a flash of light, and i transformed into a titan. I saw a green flare in the sky and i turned around as i felt a presence behind me. I saw Mikasa looking at me and for some reason, anger boiled up in my body. My body seemed to move on its own... I couldn't stop myself from swinging at her. She jumped out of the way, but the impact of my fist against the roof sent her flying and she landed about 20 feet away. I tried to stop myself, but my body was taking control of me.... My mind had no say in what was happening. Mikasa looked up at me in shock and she screamed my name. I looked at her with rage instead of hunger,
"Ackerman! Look out!"
I went to grab her, but she jumped out of the way. She came up to my face, holding onto a piece of my hair with her foot on my nose.
"Eren! Snap out of it! I know you're in there! Get a hold of yourself!"
My fist clenched and i tried my best to hold myself back. Why was i trying to hurt her?!
"Ackerman! Get out of there!" Ian's voice pierced the air and Mikasa jumped back onto the roof right before my fist made contact with my face. I fell to the ground and my body gave out. I felt weak.... I was still awake... But i couldn't think of any reason to get up. I didn't see any reason to keep going.

MIKASA'S POV
Eren lost control of his titan form and he attacked me. It wasn't his fault though..... It was the titan mindset taking over. Rico cursed under her breath as she prepared the red flare and fired it.
"The plan failed. We're done here. Let's prepare to retreat up the wall".
I looked at her in shock,
"No! We can't leave him here. He'll die!"
"We can't wait around for him. In the end he's just a titan".
I looked at Ian with pleading eyes.
"Rico. We're staying. Mikasa is right. We can't leave him to die".
"Ian are you suggesting that we risk our lives to save a titan?!"
"Yes! We will fight for him! Fight to the death if you must! We will not leave him behind. Titan or not, he is a fellow soldier and we are trained to protect each other!"
She cursed under her breath and walked off to kill some titans.
I stood by Ian and watched everyone running away to fight.
"Thank you capitain. That was brave".
"No. It wasn't. To be completely honest, i was terrified of the mess you were about to get into. But you're free now. Put that special skill to good use."
He paused and took a step forward,
"Go save the man you love".
My eyes widened as he began to run away.
"H-He's my family".

EREN'S POV
I felt weak. I didn't want to get up. I felt safe in my head. When i was here.... I was with my mom again. I got to see her smiling face again. I felt a sharp pain in the nape of my neck as a blade pierced through and stabbed my human arm. Armin's voice filled my ears,
"Eren! What are you doing?! Get up!"
Huh? I don't want to get up...
"Eren! Come on! Complete the mission! Please! Get up! Remember why you wanted to do this! You have to avenge your mother's death, remember?!"
What? My mom is right here... I see her.
"Eren.... Remember all that stuff we used to talk about. About the outside world. We wanted to go see the ocean together. I got sad when you stopped talking about this stuff. But i guess it was because you didn't want me join the scouts. But why would you join? Why would you risk it all and go outside?"
My blood boiled.
That has an obvious answer. Because.... Because the outside world is my birth right!"
My eyes shot open and a low growl rolled off my tongue. Armin took the blade out of me and got off of me. I stood up and took the boulder into my arms, yelling and lifting it onto my shoulders. I wobbled and slowly took my first step to sealing the gate. One foot in front of the other... Step after step... I was doing this for humanity. I felt like my whole body was being crushed underneath the weight. I looked at everyone that was running on the ground.
What the hell are they doing?! They're gonna be eaten!
I watched as multiple people were eaten or crushed under a titan's foot. I glanced out of the corner of my eye at some sudden movement. Ian pulled someone out of a titan's mouth... But he was eaten in the process.
Mother of Sina.... This is my fault. I have to succeed now.
I neared the gate and i threw the boulder down, letting out a bone chilling roar, before my body gave out and i collapsed. I emerged from the nape of the neck and Armin was there, trying to pull me out of the body, but my arms were stuck. When he finally managed to get me free, we fell to the ground. Armin wimpered as multiple titans stood over us. I couldn't move..... My body felt so heavy. He tried to drag me away from the danger, but he couldn't move me.
Suddenly, there was a flash... Almost like the sunlight reflecting off a blade, and the titans fell to the ground. I slowly opened my eyes and saw a figure standing on top of one of the disintegrating titans. His green cloak flapped in the wind.
The wings of freedom
He turned around and looked down at us, meeting my eyes.
Corporal Levi...
"Hey kids. What the hell happened here?"
And then everything went black.

I woke up to the sound of rattling chains and water dripping somewhere. I layed on an uncomfortable bed with chains attatched to my wrists.
Where the hell am I?
I slowly sat up and saw two members of the military police guarding the cell i was in. I then met the eyes of commander Erwin and...... Corporal Levi. Erwin spoke up and snapped me out of my thoughts,
"Hello Eren. How are you feeling?"
"Good..... Umm.... Where am I?"
"Well let's just say you're in a dungeon".
I was at a loss for words.
What did I do? I don't remember anything.
Erwin said they wanted to talk to me about the scouts. They wanted me to join. But.... They said there were some problems... Obstacles standing in the way of me joining. They wouldn't tell me, but i got the message that it was bad.
I glanced at Corporal Levi and our eyes locked for the fourth time in my life. I zoned out for a little bit as i watched his grey eyes.
"So what is it you want to do Yeager?"
I was a little caught off guard by his question.
"I want to join the scouts and kill titans".
There was a slight glint of curiosity and mischief in his eyes,
"Hmm not bad...... Okay. I can take responsibility for him".
He walked up to my cell and grabbed one of the bars with his thin fingers.
"He'll be my responsibility. And if he loses control... I'll be the one to kill him".
All the color drained from my face and i felt sick suddenly. Erwin cut into the one-sided conversation,
"Okay... Well Eren, we have to go. You should get some rest".
I nodded slowly and i maintained eye contact with Levi. He tore his eyes away from me and walked with Erwin out of the cellar. I kept my eyes on the back of his head until he left my line of sight. I layed back down and sighed while covering my eyes with my arm.
What have i gotten myself into?
A/N hello my lovelies! Sorry this took me a while. I thought i posted it on Friday, but i found out that i never posted it. So i added another 1000 words to it and decided to finally post it. Ao this is now 2724 words (including this) Please enjoy my longest chapter ever lol.
