EREN'S POV
I opened my eyes and saw Levi sleeping with his eyebrows bunched up and his mouth slightly open.
I smiled.
Hmm he even furrows his eyebrows in his sleep
I kissed his nose, causing him to scrunch it up and open his eyes.
I smiled at him,
"Morning sleepy head"
He grunted and shoved his face in his pillow. The door suddenly burst open, revealing Hanji.
"OHAYO HEICHOU!! Oh hi Eren"
She laughed and started blushing as she looked at us. Levi threw a candle at her, but she easily dodged it.
"Come on you were supposed to be up hours ago. You can stay Eren".
I groaned and nodded before burying my face into the pillow.
Levi rolled over to look at Hanji,
"So who's in commander now?"
"Well it was supposed to be you, but we voted for Mike...... Levi we really need to talk about what happened".
"Let me guess.... The worst has happened".
"Yeah"
He got up and started throwing on some clothes,
"Well I'll face that when the time comes. Eren clean up today"
I watched him pull on a shirt,
"Okay".
He kissed my forehead,
"I'll be back later, okay?"
"Okay"
I watched as he walked out.
"You better have tea shitty glasses"
"Special mint tea, morning breath"
He shut the door behind him and i listened to their voices fade. I sighed before plopping back down onto the soft mattress and i mentally pouted about him leaving.
A few minutes later, a knock came on the door,
"Heichou?"
Petra.... Shit
I panicked and pulled the covers over my head. The door opened and i held my breath.
"Are you still in bed?"
I peeked out slowly and she saw me.
"Eren?"
Shit.... Think think think
I sat up,
"Oh it's only you. I thought you were Le-uh..Heichou. I hid because i thought he'd be mad that i haven't finished cleaning".
I rubbed the back of my neck nervously.
"Why were you in his bed though?"
Shit Eren think
"It was the closest thing to a hiding spot. Again, i thought you were Heichou. I thought he would yell at me for slacking off or something".
She nodded slowly,
"Oh okay. Might wanna try under it next time. Do you know where he went?"
She smiled at me and i laughed nervously,
"I'll remember that for next time. Umm.. He went with Hanji, but I'm not sure where".
I rubbed the back of my neck and shifted awkwardly.
"You seem nervous...... Why?"
She stepped forward until she was towering above me (given the fact that i was still in bed).
"Oh uh... I just really need to finish cleaning before he returns".
"Oh right. I get it. Do you need any help?"
"Uh sure"
She walked out to get some supplies and i sighed.
Thank God she believed me. If she found out about all this, i don't know what we'd do. I know Levi would be pissed if someone else found out. She won't find out....right?
"Who won't find out what? What won't heichou like?"
I realized i had said everything out loud and i screamed internally.
"Petra! Hey.... Uh nothing. It's nothing. You know me... Just talking nonsense again".
I shifted nervously and awaited her reply.
"O...kay... Get up and help me. I'll sweep, you dust".
I got up and took the duster from her, before getting to work on a high shelf.
"So why were you looking for heichou? Did you need to speak with him?"
"Oh yeah I...... Why are you in too small boxers?"
Her face turned red and i looked down at the boxers that Levi gave me.
"Oh these are old.... They're my only clean pair... Got too comfortable i guess. Heh.... I'll be back".
I ran to my room and quickly got changed. When i got back , Petra was looking out the window.
"Eren, Who do you think is cute here?"
"Wha....? Why do you ask that?"
"Because Eld is down there".
"You like him, don't you?"
She blushed wildly,
"Maybe".
"Heh... I always thought that Oulo liked you. I mean the way he looks at you is a dead giveaway".
"Eeeeeewwww! Gross! Ew! Ew! No! Ew!"
She punched my arm and i laughed while sticking my hands up.
"Okay just an observation"
I laughed at her reaction and continued dusting.
"I wonder when heichou will return"
"He's in court right now".
I looked at her,
"What? I thought you didn't know where he was".
She froze,
"Shit... I came to see if he had already left. We weren't supposed to tell you. I'm sorry".
"D-do you know why he's in there?"
Liar.... I'm such a liar
"They didn't tell you anything, did they?"
"No"
Lies
"Erwin is dead"
My stomach dropped and i felt like i was going to puke.
"What? What happened to him?"
"Nobody knows. We think he went out alone to find titans. Levi was with him and Erwin was barely breathing when they found them".
My eyebrows knit together in confusion.
"When was this? I thought Erwin was in a cell".
"It happened last night. I didn't know anything about a cell. Maybe you should ask heichou when he returns".
"That can't be right because I was with Levi all night!"
I covered my mouth and squeezed my eyes shut.
Shit shit shit
"What?"
"N-Nothing".
She started towards the door and i grabbed at the sleeve of her jacket.
"Petra wait. I'll tell you everything".
Shit why did i say that?
