The flashes, the clapping,the lights this was a normal for me. 'Stand up straight, head up, eyes up, don't smile, smile, too much teeth, not enough teeth' somethings I heard often.
Everything was so repetitive. I was stuck in a rut. Here I was doing something that many would kill for and yet I felt no joy from it.
Here I was sitting on a beautiful plush chair, in a beautiful room, located in an amazingly beautiful building, with beautiful people. Yet I felt so ugly. Sometimes on the outside, but more than ever on the inside. I couldn't explain it. I was always bad with words.
"Louis, darling you're up next." I heard the photographer yell from across the room. She had grey hair and was very kind. I've had her take my pictures a few times and she's always been lovely.
I made my way to the stage. I had to remind myself, 'head up, back straight, smile on, you've got this Louis they don't suspect a thing.'
