BEEP* BEEP* BEEP*

I reached over to my alarm clock, slamming my hands down on it to shut it off. I rolled around my bed for a bit before sitting up and swinging my legs over the bed. I sat there yawning, stretching before looking over at my clock. 7:15 a.m.

Usually, I would wake up at 6 to go on my early morning jog, but today wasn't the day to wake up and go for a run since I done it all last night. My mind began to wonder, thinking back about last night.

'The person of our choice that fits best for you is MASON MCCALLISTER. Congratulations!

Happy 16th Birthday, Madison Ann.'

I sighed in frustration and lied back down on my bed. "Was it a dream?"

VRRR* VRRR* VRRR*

My phone vibrated before Emily's ringtone played. I sat up, grabbing my phone and then swiping it to answer. "Hello-"

"Good morning to you! The birds are chirping! Happy birthday, Maddie! Happy birthday to you!" She sang on the other end of the line.

I chuckled to myself before answering her. "Thank you, Em..."

"Hey. Are you alright?" She asked.

"Not really..."

"Why?" She asked in a cutesy way.

"Because you just confirmed that last night wasn't a dream. Anyways, Em. I need you to come to school a bit earlier than how you usually do. I need your help, okay?"

"Okay." She sang happily. "Emily, get ready-"

"Sorry, Maddie. I gotta go. Bye bye." And she hangs up.

I got up from my bed and headed to the bathroom. There, I stood in front of the mirror, looking at the girl, who was staring back at me. I stared at the girl with honeycomb brown eyes, rosy pink lips, a button nose, light brown hair that cascaded down to her waist with her natural waves and curls, and finally to her slim yet toned body. I kind of laughed mentally to myself, remembering how I used to look like, how I wanted to be like someone who I'm not, how I wanted to take her place, and how beautiful I thought she was...

Over the years, I changed. One, because of puberty which allowed my hair to no longer be a simple, dull straight hair. Two, I wanted to impress someone. Last but not least, is because of all the lecturing I received from Emily. She told me that instead of trying to be someone I'm not, I should focus on being my true self... Before I met Emily, all I see or noticed is just an average girl, but once I met her... She would always say that I was really beautiful... And in time, I could see myself as a beautiful girl...

I looked away from the mirror and started to get ready for school. I put my outfit on and got ready to head out the door. Emily and I was supposed to meet up at the front gates of the school. I quickly walked out and made it to the front gate within 15 min.

I stopped in my tracks and hid behind the corner of the gate when I saw Mason and his friend laughing and joking around at the front. I started to look around, trying to find Emily, but I ended up spotting nothing. I was so focused on looking for Emily that I didn't even hear her sneak up on me.

RUSTLE* RUSTLE*

Suddenly, I heard a faint whisper in my right ear that startled me sh*tless. "Pst! What are we looking for?"

"Agh! You f*cking b*tch! You scared the sh*t out of me!" I whisper yelled.

"Really? Where? Let me see. I want to record you sh*tting your pant on your birthday." She laughed.

"Ugh! I hate you." I pouted.

"Aww, come on. We all know that isn't true. You love me." She giggled, nudging my shoulders. "So anyways, what are we looking for or at?"

"Nothing really. Just, I don't know. A way for me to sneak in."

"Okay, why?"

"Well, it's about Mason... I don't want him to see me like this." I kind of half lie.

She sighed before giving me a full body check out. "Gurl, you look fine. Beside, didn't yesterday you said that he doesn't recognize or remember you, so what's there to worry about?"

"I just don't want to take the risk if he remembers me or not... Please, Em." I begged.

"Fine, but you're going to have to figure out the plan yourself." She grumbled.

"Well, there is this one plan I had in mind..."

"Good glob, Maddie! You're f*cking heavy." She huffed.

"Come on! Just a little higher Emily!" I whispered yelled at her.

"I'm trying to, woman! I ain't no stepping stool!" She exclaimed.

"Well, try harder! And stop yelling, you're making a scene!" I whispered yell again.

"I'm making a scene? B*tch, without me yelling, this is already a scene-"

"What are you two idiots doing?"

"Jeezus!" Emily screamed, letting go, dropping me on my butt.

"F*ck!" I cursed.

"What the h*ll, Amelia!" Emily and I yelled in sync. "Don't sneak up on us like that!"

"I wasn't sneaking anywhere, but it sure seems like you guys are." She smirked.

"Oh my glob!" Emily growled. "Okay, Maddie, her stupid dumb f*ck self, decided to be scared of coming to school, because she didn't want Mason! To notice her! So she came up it this stupid *ss idea of climbing over the side of this gate wall in order to get in." Emily ranted out.

"Oh, really?" Amelia smirked again. "Looks like you two need some help."

"That's a good idea! Amelia, get your *ss over here and lift Maddie up. Glob, my arms feel like they about to fall out." Emily complained.

"Hey! I'm not that heavy!" I exclaimed.

"Well maybe you should reconsider it and say that to my weeping arms. Amelia, hurry up and get your *ss over here." Emily hissed.

Amelia sat her stuff aside then walked over to help me climb over the gate. "There! We are finally done with this stupid idea." Emily sighed.

BRING* BRING* BRING*

The school bell finally rang, telling us that class was about to start. Amelia said her goodbyes and see you laters to us before heading off to her own school. We slowly made our way through the front door and walked down the hallway to our class. Today was gym, so there was a chance I might bump into somebody in this side of the building.

This school, Ellan Elite Scholars For The Excellent, has three building section or whatever. The right was for the regular. Emily and I attend there. While the left was for the Elite. Mason and Natalie attend there. And finally, the middle is for the office, cafeteria, gym, etc.

I was trying really hard to be as cautious as I can. Still not wanting to have any chances of running into a certain somebody. While walking down the hallway towards the gym, being as cautious as possible, I ended up screwing myself up. Apparently, I wasn't being cautious enough, because I ran into a brick wall... In the middle of the hallway...

"Madison."

I heard him call my name. I looked up to meet his hazel brown eyes and my heart stopped. "H-hey, Mason?"
