Chapter 2

    I roll my eyes and turn the music back on as she lets people in. Naruto bursts in with his team behind him, both looking ready to murder him. Before Ino can close the door, Neji and Kiba's teams enter too. Lee's team comes in shortly after with Shikamaru and Choji in tow. A few minutes later, Temari enters with Kankuro but Gaara is nowhere in sight. I walk over and ask her where he is.
"He doesn't usually come to things like this. I don't know where he went off to."
Ino is able to close the door and people are already mingling or sitting down relaxing. I look over to find Sakura attempting to dance in front of Sasuke, trying to look sexy. Have you ever seen a flamingo have a seizure? That's what it looks like... I hold back a giggle as Ino pushes her out of the way and tries to look better. I sigh and let out a small laugh before starting to mix the music. Naruto comes over and peers over at the screen.
"What're you doing?"
"Mixing tracks, it's like chopping up songs and beats and meshing them together." I explain.
"That's cool! I've never heard this song before, who is it?"
"Oh, it's me. I wrote and recorded it."
"You have a great voice!"
We both turn at the sound of yelling and watch as Ino and Sakura begin cat-fighting on the floor. Everyone turns to watch and laugh at the antics.
I let them scrap it out for a few minutes before clearing my throat. "Ino! Sakura! Cut it out ladies, this is stress free remember?"
They look up at me and Ino punches Sakura one last time before they get up and Ino suggests playing a game. Most people just shrug and concede, waiting for her to name a game. She decides on truth or dare spin-the-bottle. Everyone settles around the floor as she pulls an empty bottle from the shelf. The guys for the most part look reluctant to play while the girls look excited, well Hinata looks as if she'll faint, as usual.

Ino places the bottle in the center and explains the rules. She spins and the bottle lands in front of Hinata. Poor girl. Hinata quietly picks truth, and when Ino asks who she has a crush on, Hinata looks up at Naruto with wide eyes before fiddling with her fingers and fainting. I poke her lightly and wake her back up, Naruto oblivious to her response. She spins and it lands on Lee. Lee picks dare while spouting something about youth powering his will to do the dare or something along those lines. Hinata looks confused and unsure of what to tell him to do, so I gather the girls around to come up with a dare.
"Do a lap around Konoha..." Ino begins.
"Easy!" He cheers.
"-Naked." She finishes with a smirk.
"THE POWER OF YOUTH WILL FUEL ME!" He tears off his clothes in front of us before streaking out the door.
"I'm blind! My EYES! THEY BURNN!" I scream, fake crying into Shikamaru's jacket, causing him to mutter his usual complaints about me.
Everyone laughs and a few minutes later Lee returns, further blinding us all before putting his clothes back on. He spins the bottle and it goes on and on with random truths and dares between everyone. Sakura spins and it lands on Naruto who picks dare. She shares a look with Ino, Temari and I before daring him to kiss Hinata. Hinata looks up in shock and starts to stutter. I pinch her arm lightly to keep her from fainting. Naruto's face is red as well as he comes over and crouches down in front of her. I pull out my camera and take a picture just as their lips me. Definitely going on the wall with the other pictures I took tonight. They blush and pull away, Naruto returning to his spot. He spins the bottle and it lands on me.
"I pick dare before you even ask. 'BELIEVE IT!'" I say, quoting him.
"I dare you to sing part of a song for us!"
"Lame, but okay. What do you want to hear?"
He pauses, clearly forgetting that would be part of giving me the dare.
"Uh, your pick."
I think for a moment before deciding on one of my favorite songs. I get up and find the music for the song.
"Saigo ni hitotsu chiisana kisu wo shite
Kimi wa shizuka ni heya wo dete itta
Hikitomeru koto mo dekizu damatte taeru koto mo nai
Yurayura yureru boku wa heya no sumi no gitaa wo totte

I finish and take a mock bow as several people clap. I hear Ino whistle and say something along the lines of 'Ooh! Sexy!' I turn to Naruto who just stares at me slack jawed. I laugh and spin the bottle, it landing on Ino. I look at her and smirk, causing her to smirk back. I decide to be nice and dare her to kiss Sasuke. She immediately cheers and goes over to Sasuke who is glaring at me. I smile widely and hold up a peace sign. He looks like he'd rather die as Ino kisses him. She squeals in excitement before going back to her seat. She spins and it lands on Shikamaru, who signs and picks truth, the easy way out.
"No! You're getting a dare because you always pick truth!"
"Troublesome woman, why give me the option if it doesn't matter?"
"Because I can, and I dare you to......" She smirks at me and I shake my head no. "-To go into the closet for five minutes with... Kaida-chan!"
"Really Ino?" I say while Shikamaru rolls his eyes and stands up. I get up and push the music table out of the way and lead him into the closet. The door shuts and she tells us that she's set a timer. I roll my eyes and look down at Shikamaru. He sighs.
"Why did she do this?" He asks.
"It's Ino. Do we ever really know why she does anything?"
"Good point. I'm going to sleep."
"Might as well."
I sit down next to him and rest my head on his shoulder as we both drift off to sleep. Next thing I know the door is being ripped open and a camera flashes. I look up at Ino as she coos over us sleeping next to each other, but disappointed nothing notable happened. I wake him up and we go back to our seats. He spins and it lands on Temari, who answers a question before spinning and landing on Kankuro. He picks dare and the other girls get together before deciding to send him into the closet with... me.
"What is with you and sending me into a closet with someone? I'm not a hooker, there's one that lives a couple doors down if you want me to get him. I'm sure he'd love to hang out with guys in the closet." I complain.
"Just deal with it Kaida-chan, he thinks you're cute and you need a boyfriend." Ino retorts.
I roll my eyes and go into the closet with the darkly clad sand Nin. I take a seat across from him and get comfortable. He sits there just staring at me with an odd expression. I raise an eyebrow and stare back until it starts to annoy me.
"Hi there. Can I help you or something? Your staring is a little weird."
He doesn't answer, just suddenly lunges across the space and pins my arms against the wall before pulling my mask down and crashing his lips onto mine. I kick and fight against him but he doesn't move. His free hand reaches down to try to get into my shirt when one of my arms breaks free, allowing me to punch him in the face. He moves his mouth off mine and grabs my arms again with one hand while the other tears at my shirt.
"Get off me you creep! INO OPEN THE DOOR!" I yell, but he blocks the door with random boxes.
I mentally curse my inward opening door as I hear Ino yelling at someone to get the door open. Kankuro snaps the strap of my tank top and grins. He leans in to kiss me again when I notice sand drifting under the door. I raise an eyebrow, but watch as it wraps around his arms and neck then pulls him away from me up against the far wall. I feel myself hyperventilating and slide my headphones on with music to help calm myself. I push the boxes out of the way and rush out and head straight to my bedroom while ignoring all the concerned calls.
I lock the door and collapse on the bed, pulling my knees to my chest. I feel tears slip out down my cheeks as I force my breathing to calm. I hear a knock on the door and ignore it. A moment later the door opens and I look over to note Shikamaru pocketing a kunai as he walks in. He shuts the door and locks it behind him before leaning against the dresser.
"Are you alright?"
I nod and wipe the remaining tears away before turning off my headphones. I step into the bathroom to wash my face, ignoring my reflection. I go back into the room to find another shirt and slide it over my head to cover myself. I pull the tank top off through the top and put it on the dresser to be fixed later.
"I know you're lying, woman."
I look up at Shikamaru who lightly pulls me into a hug.
"I'll be okay, Shika-kun. I've been through worse." I mutter the last part though I know he'd hear.
He doesn't question it, just allows me to pull away whenever I feel. I eventually let go and thank him for checking on me.
"Ino wouldn't stop bugging me about it, you know how she gets."
I roll my eyes and nudge him, fully understanding the excuse but knowing he did it of his own accord. I glance down at the weapons and debate on bringing one with me to slice Kankuro's face off, but I decide to leave it, knowing that I have many more scattered throughout the house. I slide my headphones down around my neck again and make sure my mask is properly placed before walking back out into the living room with Shikamaru. I grab a soda from the kitchen and reclaim my spot against the couch just as Ino tackles me into a hug while sobbing about what she 'did' to me.
"You didn't do it. He's a pervert and you couldn't have known."
"But STILL! I hurt you indirectly." She wails.
"I'll survive."
I look up as Temari walks over looking embarrassed.
"Hey, uh Kaida- I just wanted to apologize for my brother's actions. He's not like that usually, but I'm really sorry that happened. Gaara somehow knew it was happening, he dragged him outside with the sand. We're both pissed at him and we'll make sure he's not around you ever again. The party was great though. I'm going to make sure Gaara doesn't actually kill him..."
"It's alright Temari, I'll be okay. I'm glad you enjoyed the party. You and Gaara are welcome back any time. I'll walk you out, make sure you make it back okay."
I stand and slide on a pair of shoes and follow her out the door. Down below us on the street, a lasso of sand is circled around Kankuro's waist and it repeatedly lifts him up and slams him down onto the stone. In front of him, the redhead is standing by watching it happen. Temari and I walk down the stairs to meet him. Kankuro's face is bleeding a lot and I can't help but to smirk.
"That's enough Gaara. I'm sure he's learned his lesson." Temari tells him, but keeps her distance.
Gaara slams him down one more time before the sand releases him and retreats back into the gourd. I watch Kankuro slowly pull himself up while Temari kicks him in the face and laughs, calling it the end of the lesson.
"Do you know how to make it back to your hotel from here?"
"Yeah. It's just a couple of streets over. We'll be fine."
"Alright, see you tomorrow."
I smile and hug Temari and they start to leave. I feel bad for not properly thanking Gaara, so I catch up the few steps and wrap my arms around his torso. I feel him freeze while Temari and Kankuro gasp. I feel sand tickling me but nothing else happens.
"Kaida- it's really dangerous. His sand will attack you, no one touches him without getting hurt." Temari says in a shaky voice.
"It's just brushing over me but it hasn't latched on or anything. I can feel it trying though." I pull back and show them that it's just sitting around me like a small shield.
"That's weird. Gaara, why is it doing that?"
He shrugs and stares at me with an odd expression.
"Thank you Gaara for helping me." I say, bowing slightly. He nods and the sand retracts and they leave. I wave at Temari when she turns before returning to the apartment.
