Chapter 17

A/N: POV jumping almost over. -.-"

 My eyes flutter open and I sit up. This floor is so uncomfortable, but I wasn't given anything. Apparently a blanket would be too dangerous since I'd attacked Itachi with no weapon. As a punishment, they've bound my hands behind my back so I can't attack easily. I get close enough to the wall to stand, then it hits me that I really need to pee. Why did they not put a bathroom in here? I make my way to the door and start yelling.
"Hey idiots! I have to pee and there's no bathroom! I'm not peeing in a corner! So help me if I don't get taken to a bathroom soon the next person who opens the door will die a very fiery and painful death!" I back away as the door swings open and a blonde man(?) glares at me.
"Hey creepy man lady, take me to a bathroom before I pee myself."
"It's four in the morning, un. Shut up." He grumbles.
"Take me to the bathroom and I will shut up." I offer.
"Who are you anyway? You're kinda cute, un." I watch as he eyes me up and down.
"I'm 13. I will be your worst nightmare in a minute. Focus. Bathroom. Say it with me now, ba-th-r-oo-m."
"Fine, come with me and if you try to run, I'll kill you, un."
I roll my eyes and follow him into the dimly lit hallway. He stops a few doors down and gestures to the door.
"I can't go to the bathroom with my hands bound." I state.
He threatens me again, but releases my hands. I step inside and shut the door behind me, locking it. I relieve myself end sigh at the lack of windows in the room. We must be underground judging by the coolness of the base so far. I sigh and open the door again.
The blonde guy is leaning against the opposite wall with his one exposed eye closed. I leave the door cracked so the noise won't wake him and slowly try to creep by. If I get past him, maybe I can escape without being noticed. I get past him then feel a hand on my wrist pulling me back to him.
"Nice try, un." I scowl and punch him in the face with my free hand.
His grip only tightens on me as he curses. He yanks me close to him and I notice how pretty his eye is. It's a lovely shade of blue. Focus Kaida, focus.
"That was a mistake, un. You'll pay for this."
"You can't hurt me, your leader hasn't allowed it." I say, hoping it'll save me.
"What Leader won't know, won't hurt him, un." He says with a smirk.
"But it'll hurt you. Let her go. I'll take her back." We both turn to see Itachi leaning against the wall, his eyes boring into the blonde's.
"T'ch, whatever Itachi. I'm going back to sleep, un." He lets me go and walks off mumbling under his breath.
He disappears through the doorway across from 'my' room and the door slams behind him.
"Well, he's real friendly." I mumble.
"Let's go Kaida. What were you doing out here anyway?" He asks.
"I had to use the bathroom. I yelled until he woke up then convinced him to take me to the bathroom and untie me."
"And I guess you looked for a window to escape, didn't find one, then tried to get past him?"
"You know me so well." I say as I walk up the hall toward him.
"I got used to your tricks Little Sister." I stand next to him, fully intending to run in a moment. "Don't even try to get past me, I'll stop you. Even if I didn't, someone else will and it won't end pretty for you. I can't protect you from everyone in here especially when you're not part of the organization yet."
"I don't know what you're talking about." I say sweetly before pushing my arm out and ducking under his arm.
His hand catches the hood of my shirt and pulls me back to him. My mind runs through ideas that could help me and remember one from when I was younger. I look up at him with the sad look I gave him when I was younger and I wanted something.
"Onii-chan, I-I'm scared. Please don't make me stay here. I'm not strong enough to impress your leader. He's going to kill me! Please Onii-chan, don't let him kill me!" I fake sniffle at the end for added effect.
"It'll be okay. You'll be strong enough, I know it."
"Why won't you help me?"
"I know you won't die. Let's go back to your room now." He says soothingly.
"No! I'm not going back there! I have to get out of here! Let me go! Let me go!" I struggle against him, my act long gone, my voice rising into hysterics. He simply picks me up and carries me down the hallway and into the room again.
When he puts me down I start swinging at him. He dodges each hit but doesn't return anything. I focus my energy and send soundwaves in his direction. He blocks them, used to my jutsus. I growl and fight stronger, pushing more and more chakra into each attack. One finally strikes him and knocks him back a few feet. I rush to the door and out into the hallway, ignoring his calls for me to come back. Everyone should be asleep I assume. I should be able to get out of here. I reach the end of the hall and round the corner. All of the doors are shut and I can't hear Itachi behind me, so I slow down a bit to take in my surroundings. I pause at an intersection that goes three ways, in front of me, behind me, and to the left. I curse and decide to turn left and continue on. A door swings open next to me and I'm pulled inside.
The door closes and I'm face to face with an orange mask. I rip my arm from the person's grip and reach for the handle. A giggle emanates from the man and I pause with a raised eyebrow. He claps his hands and cheers. What. The. Hell?
"Pretty girl came to play with Tobi!" He giggles again. What is a little kid doing here?
"Did they catch you too?" I ask sweetly.
"Nope! Tobi is a good boy! Do you want to play?" This person has to be stupid.
"So your name is Tobi? I'm Kaida. I want to play outside, but I got lost. Will you take me outside and we can play?"
"Tobi can't. Leader-sama said Kaida-chan couldn't play outside. That'd be bad for Tobi."
"But it'd make me sad if I can't go outside. Do you want me to be sad?" This is so easy.
"No. Tobi wants pretty girl to be happy."
"Then let's go outside Tobi. I promise we'll play outside for a little while then go back inside before Leader finds out, okay? We'll all be happy then."
He seems to think it over before agreeing and grabbing my hand. He skips down the hallway while pulling me along and I mentally cheer. Thank Kami for this idiot. He stops in front of a large boulder and lets go of my hand. He performs a hand sign and the boulder moves. I see the early dawn light stretching out in front of us. I step out into the woods and look around, trying to memorize everything around me.
"Let's play Kaida-chan!" He cheers while running around in circles.
"Okay Tobi. Let's play hide and seek. I'll hide and you come find me okay?"
"Okay!" He stops in front of a tree and starts to count. I wait for a moment before running off into the woods away from the cave.

-----S------ When I return to the apartment, Temari and Gaara are gone. Ino looks up at me hopefully but I just shake my head, my hands balled into fists. She sighs and puts her face in her hands.
"What did she say?" She asks quietly.
I relay the conversation back to her and she looks up in shock.
"What? That's ridiculous! She's been in the village for years! They let her in the academy! I'm going to give her a piece of my mind!" Ino gets up and heads toward the door.
I sigh and stop her. "There's no point, Ino. She'll just lock you down as well. Where's Gaara and Temari?"
"They left to look for her. Kankuro returned to the Sand to take over for Gaara while he's gone."
"I'm going too."

I take in another breath of fresh air as my feet practically glide over the forest floor. I'm free! I feel a smile cross my face as it sinks in. I'm away from the Akatsuki, I can go back home! But, where is home? I jump over a fallen log then feel something wrap onto my ankle, knocking me down. I turn over and start kicking. It's that Tobi freak. I kick harder and connect with his mask but he doesn't let go. I push my hands out at him and hit him directly with a wave. He lets go and flies back a couple of feet. I scramble to my feet and start to run again. I duck around a tree and jump when I'm face to face with Itachi.
"Did you really expect this to work Little Sister?" He asks.
"I didn't really plan this. I just rolled with the punches. I got this far." I knock him back with a wave and keep going. I don't care how many people are out here after me, I will escape. I sense a presence in front of me and it's familiar.
"Kaida?" I hear as I break through the tree line into a clearing.
"Gaara? Thank Kami!" I see the redhead on the other side of the clearing staring at me.
I start toward him, feeling relief course through me must as I crash into someone else. The scent of the shirt tells me it's Itachi. He grabs my chin lightly, forcing me to look up at him.
"Onii-chan, please don't-" I start, knowing what he's going to do.
"I have to Little Sister." His eyes flash and everything goes black.

 -------Itachi—(New twist, eh?)
I glare at the redhead across the clearing from me before noticing the sand darting out at me.
"If you attack me, I'll kill her." I growl. The sand stops halfway between us.
"Not if I kill you first. What did you do to her?"
"She will be well taken care of." I tell him with a smirk before darting off into the trees toward the base.
When I pass Tobi I glare down at him and he runs away ahead of us. I'm going to murder him someday. She whimpers and I look down at her to find her face contorted in pain. I sigh, I didn't want to hurt her but I couldn't let her get away. She's my sister and I'm keeping her safe no matter the cost. I push past Tobi and make my way through the hallways back to her room. I lay her down on the floor and sit against the wall next to her. I idly run my fingers through her hair, something I did when she had nightmares as a child.
"She's clever, I'll give her that." I look up to find our Leader across the room.
"Very much so. She's always been quick to make a move." I agree.
"How far did she get?"
"Thirty minutes away in the span of fifteen." I answer.
"Fast too. When she wakes up, she will be tested." My heart drops.
"You know she won't be in any condition to fight after this. Give her two days after."
"When she wakes up or kill her now. Make a choice."
"Fine. When she wakes up, I'll bring her to you."
He nods and walks out. I look down at her and sigh again. Maybe she'll pull through and put up a good fight. If not, I've doomed her.
