Esper's hands shake as he grips the edges of the porcelain sink, trying in vain to steady them. He stares in horror at the reflection of himself in the cold mirror. His scleras toxic black, white hair more messy than usual, an evil grin flickering at the corners of his trembling lips.

This shouldn't be happening right now, I need to be focusing on my research.

Add thinks as he coughs, then pulls his black gloved hand away in terror and disgust.

Blood.

The dark red liquid is filling his lungs, side effects of his recklessness. He heaves again but this time into the sink, staining the white darker, till it was covered in black blood.

At first the darkening of his blood had worried him, it was a sign he was traveling too much, the toxins were too high, the risk of what he seeked too dangerous.

By the time the blackness of poisons had made their way to his left eye, and then too his right he had stopped caring.

His throat feels like it is being coated in lava, he chokes on his own scream. The dark el in his chest burns bringing salty water to his eyes.

The mirror shatters along with Add's bit of sanity as he punches it with all his rage. The mirrors shards crash to the floor around the broken soul like glass leaves. Add sinks to his knees, shaking hands still vainly grasping the edges of the sink.

A noise from outside the small dim bathroom alerts Add that he's not alone, his frame becomes stiff. He holds his breath and sobs in but despite this the bathroom door is slowly pushed open, it's her, the Crimson Avenger. Her eyes glowing softly full of amber worry. The gold brightens when she sees what her companion has done. She rushes forward to kneel beside him ignoring the jagged edges of the broken mirror. She reaches out, but Esper tries to pull away, hide his tears. He keeps his head bowed, keeping his eyes from hers.

Crimson Avengers arms are around him now, she smells like blood but there is also a strange sweet scent to it. Add lets go of the sink to reluctantly accept her embrace, burying his face in her shoulder. After the silence starts to grow on him He speaks.

"Did I wake you?" Elesis hugs him a little tighter hearing the pain still in his voice.

"I couldn't sleep anyway..." she replies flatly.

"You need sleep" Add said, wiping the bits of blood from the corners of his mouth. Elesis let out airy, haunting laughter at this, letting go of the Esper to look him in the eyes.

"You're one to talk" She smirks, as she traces the dark circles under them. He slightly flinches at her arctic cold fingers, one of many side effects of the Red Knights "condition".

Elesis' fingers move from Adds face to his bloody hand to quickly stand and pull him to his feet.

"We should get those fixed up....After all you're not like me...." The Avenger quietly said as she pulls the Diabolic Esper from the shadows of the bathroom. She leads him back to his study, dull lights still on, screens still up, nothing has changed. As the Avenger looked for the first aid kit, tearing up half the room, Add sat on his bed eyeing the mess unfolding before him with razor thin annoyance. Normally he would just go back to work, but he knew Elesis would hunt him down in the end and force the damn Band-Aids upon him. She didn't give a care in the world for her own health, but the Espers was a whole different thing.

After a few more minutes of destruction, Elesis finds the first aid kit. She unpacks the contents over the white bed sheets, then carefully removes Espers gloves. His skin is torn and still bleeding, the sight of blood makes the Crimson Avenger smile monstrously for a second, then she'd composed herself pretending it didn't happen.

Add can't help but laugh as Elesis wraps his fingers in little cream colored Band-Aids. She glares up at him.

"What's so amusing? She states coldly, fidgeting with another Band-Aid.

"Just laughing at the irony. You're usually the one with blood on their hands.... ugh it's disgusting, how do you stand it? Add complains as Elesis wipes the blood from his other hand with a tissue.

"I used to find it rather unpleasing but as you know now, I almost love it." Again her tone is cold, flat, and dead to match her lifeless eyes.
Add knew what came next, the bitter medicine Elesis always made him drink. She holds the small test tube out to him, he looks at it blankly.
"What's the point? It's not going to do much in my state" The Diabolic Esper murmurs looking away from the Avenger. She said nothing but moves the medicine closer to him, silently telling him to drink. Add is tempted to smack the flask from her hand, watch it break and bleed onto the floor, but he doesn't. Elesis pulls the medicine back, quietly looking at the time traveler. He wasn't usually this bothersome.
"Are you really not going to drink it?" Her voice matching her expression, ice.
Add stayed silent which usually meant yes, but he wasn't going to admit it.

"Very well..." The Dark Knight whispers before filling her own mouth with the transparent liquid. Add is slightly taken it back.
"What are yo-" He is cut off by the Crimson Avengers lips. She forces the medicine into his mouth, but he is still reluctant to swallow. Elesis pushes her kiss further, Add gives in.
He pulled away, wiping his dripping lips on the back of his bandaged hand.
"That was a dirty move" He hisses, swallowing his saliva again, trying to be rid of the awful taste. Elesis simply shrugs then starts to pack up the first aid kit. Esper glares after her as she put it in the corner of the bookshelf, where it wouldn't be lost, but his grim gaze doesn't last long. It was unreasonable to be mad at her for only trying to help. The Knight hadn't given up on him just yet. She sits down on the pale flower blankets next to Add once again. Slightly leaning into him, and he slightly leans into her.
"Are you sleepy yet?" He shoots a glance into her eyes, looking for signs of tiredness, he only found a hint, but it was almost always there. Elesis shakes her head faintly, and snuggles a little closer to the Esper.
"I want to stay awake with you a little longer..." The words barely audible, as she wraps her arms around him, hiding her face in the crook of his neck. He easing his black sleeved arms around her in turn, then he pushes himself onto her, making their bodies softly fall back into the heavy, cloud like blankets.
"well I'm not letting you go till your asleep"
 Elesis didn't fight him.
"But if you're making me sleep you have to do the same, deal?"
The Dark Knight whispers into his skin.

"Deal."
