It’s been three months since that kiss and none of us had spoken of it since, or even brought it up to Amy despite the fact that it was her right to know that her boyfriend was having second thoughts especially on today, as I had learned this morning to be their one year anniversary. However, instead of taking some time away to themselves they both treated it like any other day and lounged around at home with all of us.

I, on the other hand, had opted to be out of the house for what I had thought would be a love fest with the three couples hanging around, Danny and I had met up once after that and found we would be better off as friends, so there I was, still single and still aching to be back in Aron’s arms once more.

“Hey, A Dog, I’m taking Bones for a walk, you want to join me?” Dylan called out as he poked his head in my bedroom and I glanced up from the movie I had been watching smiling just a little, “Sure, why not?” I agreed pausing it and grabbing some shoes throwing my hair up into a messy bun and pushing a pair of sunglasses onto my face.

We left the other playing video games downstairs and started heading towards the park where we would be able to take Bones off of his leash and let him roam free while Dylan and I talked about things. He knew better than to approach the topic of what had gone down but he didn’t seem to be able to help himself about approaching the general topic, “So… Aron.”

I rolled my eyes and just looked at him, “What about him?” I muttered almost angrily as I kicked a stone along the sidewalk earning a warning look from Dylan, “I’m just saying, you haven’t talked about it, and don’t say you’re fine with what’s been happening cause I know you’re not Andi, I know you too well to fall for all this crap about you’re healing. Cause you’re not and we can all see it.”

I sighed heavily and bit down on my lip in an attempt to hold the tears at bay but they had other plans, “I miss him Dylan. I miss being in his arms, I miss the way he always knew how to make me smile, how he always knows exactly what I need, how to wake me up without unleashing my grumpy side… I just miss him.” I whispered finally looking down as Dylan crouched to take the leash off then stood up and hugged me.

“It’ll get better Andi, maybe not immediately but I promise over time we’re gonna get our friend back not this thing she’s turned him into.” He assured me and I nodded wiping under my eyes carefully so that I wouldn’t smudge my makeup.

We spent another hour or so in that park before heading on back to find chaos as people rushed around getting ready to go out somewhere it looked like, “What’s going on?” Dylan asked voicing my thoughts as Aron looked at us, “We’re going out for dinner, you guys should come too.” He grinned then walked off and I sighed shrugging a little as I looked up at Dylan, “Might as well I guess.” I whispered going upstairs to join my friends in getting ready.
