The Curse Of The Forest

Chapter 1: Disappeared into the forest..

[Jacki's P.O.V]

I was on my way to my friend's house as I usually did on Saturdays. Sometimes we would study together, but now that our exams were over we hung out together in our free time. Today was an extra special day though because she was turning 18. When I reached her house no one was at home, so I rang her number but no one was picking up. I then rang her parents, but they said the last time they saw her she was at home. I knocked again but still there was no answer.

It was starting to get late and the sun was setting, I didn't like the dark but I had no other choice but to walk back home. Luckily my house was only a few blocks away, but I still dreaded walking because I was scared of walking past the Old Forest. Out of all the things I was scared of, forests were the worst. I find the tall trees and bushes scary because you can never know what could be lurking behind them. Right now I was feeling quite anxious, the way you feel when you're about to get on a scary ride. I knew I had to confront my fear someday, but why now.. at this moment?

It had just rained, so the air was chilly and damp. I zipped up my jacked and pulled up my hood. The sun had just set but it felt like 11:00 at night, I looked at my watch half past eight. Phew! I walked across the main road and up the high street, past the shops and past the little blue post office. I was thinking to myself, why had Miley not rang earlier? Why isn't she at home? Is she in some kind of trouble..?

I was getting closer now, just one more street to go, pity that's the street with the forest! Walking as fast as I could now, my heart pounding, I had a thought to ring Miley again to see if she'd pick up. My hand was shaking, menu, phone book, Miley. If Miley answered, she'll know how to calm me down. I pressed the phone icon, I was passing by the Old Forest now but I dare look into it. She wasn't picking up, I pressed it again. This time I was just turning the corner hoping to have passed the forest, when suddenly I heard Miley's ring tone. I looked around to see if anyone was there, no not a single person. Then I turned to look over my shoulder, the sound was coming from the forest..

A/N: Yes, you might recognise the teen wolf actor from the pic above, I love Shelley Hennig and thought she looked most alike to my main character in this story, Jacki! :)

Thank you so much for reading, if you actually got this far..lol. I have been writing this story for years now as a random hobby while I was bored. This is also my first time writing and my sister (wattpad addict😂) told me to write it on here and so I did.
