Chapter 3: Clues to the bottom of a hole..

[Jacki's P.O.V]

Every time I rang Miley it seemed as if the sound was getting further and further away every time. I had walked so much now, my legs were starting to ache, but still I couldn't find anything. I was also starting to get worried and had a thought to go back and forget everything that had happened. But just then I felt something furry rubbing along my legs. I shrieked, and then I saw it scurrying along the bushes and climbing up a tree. It was a squirrel whom I had alarmed, my heart was still jolting and I had the urge to just get out, anywhere away from this forest! I started walking back, but I stopped in my track, I could see a dim light coming from in between the bushes. I paced across the path and pushed through the long grass, I picked up the phone that was amidst the dark, muddy leaves.

It was Mileys! I was so happy about the phone that I didn't realise I was right on the edge of a hole. I tried turning around but it was no use, I slipped and fell in, my hands just about gripping the edge.

This is probably where Miley had come, but why did she come here? Was she being chased? Or has she slipped in here like I have? It was no use thinking now though, I tried grabbing some more leaves but it was no use either, they slipped right through my fingers like water. I was dropping now, right down.. into the darkness..
