[Jacki's P.O.V]
All had gone quiet, except for the sound of Vinulea's snoring. I shot up from my 'bed'. It had been two nights since I had stayed here, I was sure. I knew I had to get going and leave but somehow, somewhere inside me didn't want to. Tazga and his family were so nice, they even trusted me, enough to let me sleep alone with their baby. The fact of having to leave this room scared me, I wondered how the other Trolls might be like but the feeling got worse and worse. Especially after what Dieara told me about them.
I put my hoodie on, walked to the cot and said my goodbyes to Vinulea. She was fast asleep. I then put on my shoes and prepared myself for what could happen outside this home. Where would I look first?
I stepped outside the door. The light from the torch flames were dimmer than the last time, and the tunnel still had that eerie orange hue. I started to walk down the tunnel, I realised I was slightly hungry, but oh well not like there was any real food down here anyway.
The further I went down the tunnel the darker it got. I passed several doors which had many different names on the front, and then that's when I thought about it. If the hole that I fell through was an entrance, there must be an exit too, an easier way to get out for the Trolls?
I moved faster now, but still tying to keep as quite as possible. (It was hard to tiptoe when you were wearing platforms!). When I came to a fork path.
There were some signs but the only one I could read was the far left one, which said 'Crown Only' with a little stamp which bore a little crown.
I took that path, and I still don't know why (I guess I was still a little sleepy) because I wasn't ready to face any kind of Troll royalty at all. In fact, I was even beginning to regret that I had left the house and didn't tell Tazga or Dieara, what was I thinking?
Just then, I heard foot steps coming down the tunnel. I quickly moved to the side and pressed my back against the dint in the cobbled wall. I clasped my hands against my heart to stop it from beating so fast, I closed my eyes and silently prayed.
The footsteps came closer and closer and then came to a halt, I opened my eyes to look in front of me. I was shocked, the person in front of me wasn't a Troll at all. He was a Human. I took in his appearance, dark soft hair, deep brown eyes (I swear they were slightly purple) and pink full lips. I swallowed, and then gazed at him. He was the most beautiful person I had seen in my life.
