Lots of random things in this chapter, more of a filler. It should give you a reminder of any small details you might have forgotten from older chapters.  By the way, I changed her major from law to engineering, I think it suits her better.

Not edited, please point out any errors, I don't get offended I actually appreciate it!

I run for a whole three seconds before Ethan's arms rap around my waist and stop me. "What the hell are you doing Elena? and why are you acting so jumpy what happened to you?" he asks me with a mixed look of concern and annoyance. I couldn't exactly blame him...I hadn't told him anything yet and I had to admit, I was probably acting very strange in his eyes. I was just about to respond when my mom's chirpy voice interrupted, followed by a loud growl from right behind her. "Elena! Ethan! what are you guys doing out here come on in!" my mom smiled with an evil glint in her eye. She had always shipped Ethan and I but I never cared to correct her. Actually, when Ethan and I where in high school, we actually dated sophomore and junior year, but as senior year rolled around and things got tougher and we started seeing each other less, we realized that neither of us were ready for commitment. We were better off as friends and although at first it was hard, thanks to Emma we managed to get passed the awkward part and a year later we were once again best friends. It's been almost two years since we broke up, but my mom for some reason still saw us as the same old couple we once were. Our relationship feels like so long ago, I almost forgot it happened.

Ethan let go of me immediately and straightened up, still looking worried. I could see Nate glaring at me from behind my mom but I chose to ignore him. Now I was going to have to find another way out. My mom turns around and begins to lead us into the kitchen, the rest of us following her. My dad was standing at the kitchen entrance laughing at something, but quickly straightened up when he saw us. Emma stood by the stove next to Nick (her boyfriend) trying to sneak a taste of my moms cooking, but stops when she sees us all standing at the door looking at her. I was surprised to see Nick there since the last time I saw Emma, her and Nick had broken up. I guess they got back together, I'd have to ask her later. Nick was the first to react as he starts laughing loudly at Emma, her cheeks turning a dark red as she realizes shes been caught red handed. "I was hungry" she whispers and to all of our surprise, my mom bursts out laughing "Come on Nate and Ethan, help me set up the table and I'll bring out the food" . Nate, clearly caught off guard and not appreciating someone telling him what to do, gets rigid before he begins following Ethan's lead. I smile a little inside giving my mom a high five in my head before I get stopped by Emma crushing me with her tiny little arms. "Where were you Elena! we missed you never do that again! What is wrong with you girl?" My eye's shoot up to meet Nate's at Emma's words and I give him the best death glare I can muster up. I hug Emma back and silently hope she doesn't say anything that will get her in trouble with her parents. "Later" I whisper in her ear as I hug her back. She nods in understanding and lets go after one more squeeze. I smile and give Nick a small hug but quickly let go when I feel Nate glaring once again. Finally, I walk over to where my dad is standing trying to help my mom and squeeze him in a giant hug. If there was anyone I missed most, it was him. My dad and I were always close and I was pretty sure he knew I was up to something and not in Europe this whole time. He was the more chill parent and so naturally we got along better, especially since I'm in college now.

After properly greeting everyone, we all settled down to eat. My parents sat at the two ends of the table, Emma and Nick next to each other, Nate next to them and across from me, and Ethan next to me. Thankfully dinner wasn't awkward even though I could feel Nate's stare on me the entire time. "Elena, have you registered for your classes next semester? I hear classes are filling up quickly." My dad asks me, already knowing the answer. I smirked at him even though I knew it would make him upset "Yeah no actually I was going to go do that tomorrow". My mom looks up angry but suddenly her face changes as she smiles at me "take Nate with you! I'm sure he'd love to see the school you're going to and maybe you can show him around the city a little" she had that evil glint in her eye I was all too used to seeing on her face whenever she saw me with Ethan. Wait did she think Nate and I were together? I am gonna kill Nate if he said anything I swear..

As if on perfect timing, Nate responds "I think that would be great" he smirks at me. So maybe the look my mom was giving me outside wasn't because of Ethan and I, maybe it was because of Nate. That piece of shit! he was going to suffer. "actually mom, I'm already going with a friend, I don't know if he'd appreciate me bringing someone he doesn't even know without even telling him" I intentionally refer to my "friend" as a "he" just to get to Nate while I smile looking him right in the eye, as I outright lied to my mom. My dad sighs, being able to detect my lie from a mile away like always. "Who?" Nate and my mom voice at the same time. Well I wasn't expecting that question. "Dylan" I just say the first male name that comes to mind. Actually, I do know a Dylan, maybe I should hit him up again. Nate gives me a disapproving look after I replied too quickly. He knows I'm lying. Ouch that must hurt him, he just got rejected. Nah he's probably used to getting rejected. I start smiling like an idiot at my own thoughts, obviously attracting attention. Emma, being the angel that she is, changes the topic for my sake. "I start my first semester in college in a month, any advice?" Ethan and I look at each other and smile "Don't hoe around" I say at the same time Ethan says "Don't miss your classes". Ethan, Nick, and Nate all look at me as my parents excuse themselves and start cleaning the table. "Hoe around? like I would let her" Ethan responds, not looking too happy, Nick quickly agreeing with him. Emma and I start laughing as Nate looks at me and asks "Is that what you did?" He was being very serious and didn't sound too happy so when Emma and I start laughing even more, he only gets angrier. "Yeah right, Elena is always too busy partying" Ethan responds for me. He was right, I only had one boyfriend after him and that too didn't work out cause he had a huge problem with me smoking since I was a girl and all. And no, I'm not talking about cigarettes.

Nate didn't look too happy with that either, but then again, when is he ever happy. "Yeah I'm gonna stick with Elena, she knows where the good stuffs at" Emma smirks, knowing she was pissing Ethan and Nick off. Ethan was chill but she was still his little sister so I couldn't blame him for being a little overprotective, especially when it comes to two things: boys and drugs. The only reason Nick was allowed to date her was because he wasn't the player type and we could all tell he actually really liked Emma.

Emma is a girly version of me and she also has a habit of doing everything she isn't allowed to do. It's how we first started getting along. She had Ethan being overprotective over her and I had my older brother, Gabriel, watching over me all the time. Ethan and I actually started off dating secretly till my mom ended up catching us making out in my room once. After a lot of convincing she agreed not to tell my dad or brother but about a year later my brother found out from rumors at school. He was one of those popular guys and all of his friends were extremely loyal to him and therefore they ended up being protective over me as well. One of them heard about Ethan and I and went and snitched us out to my brother. Gabriel and Ethan ended up in a big fight but it didn't get far before their friends stopped the two of them.

I get snapped back from the memory when I see Ethan giving me a pleading look and Nate watching me amused and angry at the same time. "Don't worry Ethan, you know I'm gonna keep her in check and make sure she doesn't take too much of anything" I smirk and wink at Emma. Ethan lets out a groan as he starts to look annoyed. The image of his little sister in college and out partying doing drugs was probably not settling very well with him. We all went to a private conservative high school, so any drugs we shouldn't be doing were not done...not openly anyway. We all did it, but we all knew how to keep it hidden and how to stay classy.

Nate was still giving me a funny look and I guess something finally convinced him to speak up cause he looked right at me as he asked "You party a lot?" Ethan starts laughing now and answers his question for me, "Yeah dude, it's hilarious. But she has self control so don't worry about having to watch over her" I silently thank Ethan for not saying anything more. I know Nate won't exactly be happy if he finds out about the details involved in our college parties. He graduated so I'm sure he has an idea..

Now that I think about it, I'm actually excited for fall semester to start. Well to be specific, I'm more excited to be able to go to college parties again.

Okay honestly the reason I'm not posting often is because I have no motivation to do so.

So if you don't mind, I would really appreciate it if you could leave a response so I know what I am doing right and what I am doing wrong.
