The three of us headed to the strip towards their hotel. Inside and out, I was elated, and overwhelmed with joy. I was literally in a dream with my dream guy, who I pretended was my monogamous partner, the whole time we were together. It was an out of body experience, but I was very much present and in no rush for it to end. The chemistry that was shared between Larenzo and me was very much organic, and undeniable
On the way over, we stopped for pictures and liquor at the drugstore. We compared and contrasted our lives in America and England. Gatorade, Squirt, and Kit Kat, are more common beverages and junk food, in America. I found it to be interesting that we spoke the same language, yet our slang was much different. It was cute every time Larenzo would ask what (something) meant. And since I was in my head pretending, I also pretended I was his interpreter who spoke numerous languages.
We arrived on the 27th floor, and into their suite. There, I was reunited with the rest of the brood, Zo, Andre, and Davik, as I hadn’t seen them since our last outing. We were all set to go to a day party two days prior, but I had to work so my time was very limited with them. In the midst of the unorganized chaos that was their room, I found a comfortable space on the couch. Larenzo joined me, resting his head upon my lap. I responded by caressing his hair, ears, and shoulders. After all, at this point, he is my ‘boyfriend in my head."
Accompanied by Andre, we headed down for the pool. We grabbed finger foods, and shared some witty banter along the way. Larenzo was never pushy and for the most part, allowed me to take the lead when it came to flirting. I wasn’t used to this, as most men are aggressive and mannish to the point where it can be overwhelming. Although I embraced it, there were times where I did want him to be the aggressor.
Once there, we enjoyed the breeze that was created from the sunset and the cool waters of the pool. I quizzed Larenzo and even got to know about Andre. He and Larenzo met while attending ‘Uni,’ or what Americans refer to as College.
“So, what makes you happy? What are you passionate about?” I inquired.
“I love Football. I was set to be drafted right out of ‘Uni,’ and 3 months before I my contract signing, I sustained an injury to my knee. I was in rehab for awhile, but it was never the same after the damage. Overtime, I sustained more injuries and they cared less and less, because I wasn’t yet under contract.” Larenzo explained.
“What about your family, are you close with them?”
“I love my family to pieces. Davik is my older brother, and I have two other siblings. My mother and I are very close…my father, not so much. My father always showed favoritism toward Davik. What about you?”
“It’s just me and my mother, I have other family, but my mother is the most important.” I responded.
I admit that although Larenzo and I had yet to be alone, I enjoyed his friends very much. I felt very welcome as if I, too, were a part of their group. A half an hour passed before the rest of the crew joined us to shoot the breeze.
The pool’s hours of operation were ending at sunset, and none of us were quite ready to leave. Larenzo and I split from the group, deciding we would continue on to the after hour Jacuzzi on the 11th floor. First, we had to pick up his swim shorts from their room, and I was going to be left swimming in my underwear. The guys went off to fetch more liquor for the night’s festivities. It was time; Larenzo and I were finally going to be alone.
Back on the 27th floor, he and I exited the elevator towards their suite.
“Let’s race to the room.” I challenged.
He laughed, unsure if I was sincere. “You’re not serious.”
“I am serious; you’re an athlete, so this should be a piece of cake. I’ll take off my shoes, and we’re going to race, for real.”
Larenzo was taken aback. I don’t think he expected for me to be just that ‘cool’ to challenge him to an actual running race. I was flirting, and putting my best foot forward, literally. I liked this guy, and he was so easygoing I knew he wasn’t going to say no. I also figured this would be a good way to loosen up the unspoken sexual tension, and nervousness that still lingered between both parties.
“I’m a girl, so I get a 2 second head start.” I pleaded.
He smiled. “Ha-ha, Ok. Ready…Set…Go!”
We raced until we arrived at the room’s entrance. He won, of course. My fat ass had not seen a race track since I was a freshman in High School. It was fun, nonetheless, and it did ease the mood.
Upon entering the room, I was nervous because we were alone and this is the time when most men show their true colors as perverted creepers. I silently prayed Larenzo would not pull any bullshit. Our time together had been so perfect, and I didn’t want him to ruin it by being cliché and forcing himself upon me. I sat on the couch, while Larenzo searched for his trunks. Once he found them, he came into the living area and suggested we both take shots. I obliged and we went for the strongest spirit on the table, Tequila.
