So I actually have no idea how I came up with this one but hope you enjoy it. It's an AU where Fakir is a police detective and Ahiru is the victim. Ahiru is 20. Fakir is 22.
Fakir's Pov
I knew this case would be difficult but not like this.
I didn't think everything would take such a turn. I didn't think this case would change my life so much.
When she ran in to the police station frighten and covered in blood, I knew this wasn't going to be easy.
It started off with her needing protection. I was assigned to watch her. She didn't like the idea of me protecting her. She ranted about how she wanted someone else. It surprised us all that someone who is a witness and a victim could do such a thing.
But to be fair I wasn't necessarily the nicest when she came in. I got irritated quick when she wouldn't talk. It made no sense to me why she would come here but not speak to anyone when we tried to help.
The matter was settled though and I was stuck with her.
When I asked her where she lived, she refused to go to her house. She didn't explain to me why until I agreed to take her to my house.
She broke down the minute we stepped in. She explained everything. What happened, why she ran, why she doesn't want to go home.
I didn't know how to comfort a crying girl so I just called in told what happened and waited for her to stop crying. When she did I showed her her room.
I thought the entire time I'll be with her she'll be sad and quiet. That was so far from the truth.
She was very energetic and loud. Not to mention very clumsy. She woke up early to feed the birds. She tripped over everything. To top it off she was sensitive.
I had to learn what to say to her and what not to say. I called her an idiot and she went off crying.
She was an annoyance.
When it came to working on the case she wanted to be there every step of the way. She wasn't much help so it was pointless for her to be there.
I was waiting for the day where this case was finish and she could leave my life forever.
But then everything changed one day.
I came upstairs and found her holding a book. My book. A very special book that I treasured very much.
I snatched it away from her and yelled at her for touching my things. I called her an idiot and said she had no right to touch my things. She could've damaged it like she does everything else.
I stormed off and went to my room. I expected to hear her crying from my harsh words. Part of me wanted to apologize for being that mean to her but I was still very upset.
Then she knocked on my door.
She apologized for it and asked me to open my door. I unlocked it and she entered. She said she has no idea the book was important to me and she shouldn't have touched it.
I just stood there listening to her. I don't know what made me say it but I told her it my parents gave it to me. She asked what happened to them and said I didn't have to tell her if I didn't want to.
We ended sitting on my bed and I explained how my parents were killed protecting me. I didn't want her pity. I didn't want her to see me as some sort of kicked puppy.
Surprisingly she didn't. She told me that must've been hard. She said I should be happy that I had parents that love me and I should remember the good times. When I looked up at her I saw a small comforting smile.
