On my own

This one I'm basing off of the song On my own by Ashes Remain. I love the song. Now Ahiru is not really not in this one but she is, if that makes sense. She doesn't appear really. This takes place in the middle of episode 13 when she and Fakir went to save Mytho. After he found out she's a duck.

This is my first ever song fic. Hope I don't do bad with it.

Fakir's Pov

There's gotta be another way out
I've been stuck in a cage with my doubt.
I've tried forever getting out on my own

I keep trying to do everything on my own. I keep pushing everyone away who wants to help. Everyone gives up sooner or later. I never needed anyone.

Why do I need someone now? Why her? Why does she keep coming back?

Every time I do this my way
I get caught in the lies of the enemy.
I lay my troubles down
I'm ready for you now.

Now when I try something goes wrong. I can't protect Mytho anymore from the story. I'm a worthless knight bound to die.

And now I have someone, I have her, who is willing to help me. Who wants to help me protect Mytho. Who wants to help me save him. Who wants to save me.

Everyday by myself I'm breaking down,
I don't wanna fight alone anymore.

But do I really want her help? I know I can't handle it by myself but what good can come from me getting closer to her?

When did I ever need to be saved? And by a clumsy girl at that. She'll be more of a setback than being helpful.

No I can't think like that. She has restored some Mytho's heart all by herself despite any trouble she faced. She stood up to me despite my threats.

She keeps trying. She doesn't even fully know me yet she helps me. She watched me cry. She comforted me. She doesnt judge me. And now she is here by my side helping me look for Mytho. Helping me try to save him.

She let me know her secrets since it means getting to Mytho. I know she's doing it because she loves him but that doesn't mean she has too be so kind to me.

She wrapped my wounds before. She keeps trying to have a conversation with me despite my cold demeanor towards her.

She revealed that she's not fully human. She told me her feelings about Mytho really. She said I am a good knight. She has faith in me.

Her heart is just so big. She keeps on smiling. She keeps hope. She stays positive.

Something I never did.

I refused to believe in hope all the way to this day. Yet she is showing me what hope can do. She gave me hope that I can change fate.

And I trust that she will do everything she can to save Mytho and give him a happy ending. I have faith in her.
