Nothing to be afraid of

It's been forever since I wrote a one shot. I'm super super super sorry, I just couldn't think of anything. I hope this makes up for it.

Fakir's Pov

I wonder what's taking her so long. Sure she comes late sometimes but she's never this late.

Maybe she forgot about today. That's something she would do.

No that doesn't seem right. This is Ahiru we're talking about. She would never forget about having dinner at my house. Whenever we plan to do something, she never forgets it.

So what's taking her so long?

I stare out the window, hoping to see her running down the street with her braid waving back and forth, a sign that she realizes that she's late.

Maybe she just got caught up again, talking to everyone she runs into. She's so friendly and polite that she'll say hello to every person she sees. And if she runs into someone she knows then she'll definitely stop to talk.

But even she would try to limit that if she's meeting up with me.

Maybe then she's just not coming. That's a possibility too. Maybe she changed her mind. Did I upset her today? I do tend to do that without realizing. Maybe she's mad at me.

But would she be so mad that she just wouldn't show up?

Uggh why am I getting so worried? I've been worrying nonstop for the past twenty minutes. The things this girl does to me. I swear, she makes me do and feel things like no one ever has. How bothersome. Yet refreshing.

I sit down in a chair. I just need to wait patiently.

Soon the door bursts open and Karon rushes in, panting heavily.

"What's wrong?" I ask, startled by his entrance.

"The *pant pant* the school *pant* is on fire." He says through his heavy breathing.

Fire?!

I run out the door and to the school.

Ahiru may still be there. She could be in trouble.

Please let her be alright.

I run as fast as I can to the school. As I get closer, I can see the smoke in the air and people gathering. I push through the crowd as more panic rises in me.

I finally reach the school and I look around. Students are still evacuating the buildings, but I don't see Ahiru. She has to be here somewhere.

My eyes finally land on those two girls she's always with. I run  over to them.

"Have either of you seen Ahiru?" I ask.

The two of them give me a worried look, which bothers me because the blondie never seems worried about anything. Her twisted mind find delight in this stuff.

"I think she's still inside. The fire started in the girl's dorm and we didn't see her come out yet." The pink haired one says.

She's still inside?

"And you two didn't help her?!" I growl.

They flinch at my tone. They look away from my eyes as blondie plays with her hands and pinky looks at her feet.

I don't wait for a reply. I turn away from them and rush inside the girl's dorm. People try to stop me but I ignore them.

I need to find Ahiru.

I remember when she told me she had a fear of fire ever since she was a duck. She would be really hesitant when someone was cooking as a duck, always flapping away from the open fire. When she was changed back into a girl, she still avoided it. I remember when she completely panicked when a cloth caught on fire once at my house. I was able to put it out easily but she was still so shaken up. Ever since then whenever I invited her over for dinner I made sure that dinner was made before she came over.
