“Ouch,” I crooned “That really hurt, Dominic.” Dominic O’Neal is my best friend; we have been friends since the first grade and have never separated. Dominic laughed as he walked down the hall of our school. He had hit me in my back.

“You’ll be okay, Skie.” Dominic laughed.

We headed to our first period class. Fortunately my first period class wasn’t in a classroom; it was in the front office.  Cameron, South Carolina was a small city, so it didn’t give me much to do.

“Hey, still coming cover my house tonight, right?” I asked as we began to separate down two different hallways.  Dominic turned toward me walking backward smiling.

“Still thinking about that, we have a test in Ms. Coner’s class, so IDK,” he said turning back around “I will let you know though.”

I watched him walk away toward the class buildings. Dominic would think about a test on Friday. I always loved the fact that he was so smart, that’s why we didn’t have the same classes. When he started to disappear around the corner, I turned around to head to the front office. Before I made it there I walked right into my sister, Izbel Mohandas, and her click of friends.

“Wazzup, Babe,” Austin Delano said with smirk “come to give me my good morning kiss.” Austin was a basketball stud. He was tall, broad shoulders, muscular, and gorgeous from head to toe. His auburn hair was short, but long enough to still be blowing across his tan face with every breeze, to give girls a small glimpse of those two shades of dark and lit gold eyes. He was sexy and he knew this fact so he used it to his advantage with everything he did that included trying to get into more than just my pants.

“Don’t call me that.” I crooned.

I walked up to Izbel and gave her a hug. Izbel had black wavy hair like mines. She was of those girls that looked so perfect all the time. She wore lit make up, knowing she didn’t need it. She was just a little taller than me, hazel eyes, but two different colors; her right eye was more greenish and the right was more gold. Those beautiful eyes stood out. I wished for those eyes, but instead I had eyes of a Siberian husky. I had eyes of a dog, people found them attractive, but I hated them. My sister and I had a weird relationship. Sometimes she wanted to be around me and than other times she would stay away for days and won’t say a word to me. She was lucky our adoptive parents didn’t stay on her case all the time. She was allowed to come and go when she felt ready; which seemed like every night. We both were adopted by Toney and Elaina Franz. They never gave us their last name, I wondered why, but never asked. I was curious about my real parents, but every time I even mentioned anything on the subject, my parents said don’t worry about it, it was in the past.

“Did you hear, you are about to get some action in that boring office of yours today.” Izbel said with a bright smile.  I had no Idea what she was talking about so I shook my head no.

“We have a new guy, and god he is sexy.” Marisa Devonport said giggling. Marisa wasn’t the brightest girl in the senior class, but somehow she made it through school. They all were a year older than me by one year. Marisa was pretty blond with beautiful hazel blue eyes. Her eyes had a dark shade of gold in the middle.

“No I haven’t heard, well I hope I’m lucky enough to meet this sexy guy.” I said. I hoped I put enough sarcasm in my voice to make her understand that I didn’t care much. I began walking through them and up the path to the office. I through a “see you guys later” over my shoulder.
