I gasped in surprise. So many thoughts swirled around my brain I couldn't form a sentence. "Mason," I began.

"Liv, don't even answer. Your silence said it all. I shouldn't have asked. You'll have to forgive me."

"Mason." I scolded, I had caught my train of thought and now my temper was rising. He asks to date me then rescinds the offer before I can even answer. "Don't you dare make up my mind for me!"

"But Livy, I've obviously jumped-"

"You hush."

Mason sat back in his chair, a look of surprise on his face. I took this as an opportunity to speak my mind. "Mason, my silence wasn't and objection to your question. I was so stunned that you- a wonderful, kind, strong, interesting man like you would be interested in a plain girl like me." I leaned forward and laid my hand on top of his. "Can't you understand? You're like a fantasy, and I'm just an ordinary person." I shrugged, looking down at our hands.

"Olivia, your so much more than ordinary." Mason clasped both my hands between his. "Little girl, I asked to date you because you are completely extraordinary. You make every other girl I've known pale in comparison. I- I like you. A lot. I don't wanna be just your friend though. I want you to be mine."

"Yours?"

"Mine." He confirmed.

A small smile crept across my lips. Mason's girl. I liked the sound of that, I wanted to be his girl. I remembered before when I thought Mason and Lydia might have a thing. It made me see red, I was jealous. Because I wanted Mason for myself.

"Mase,I would love to be your girlfriend."

"Would you want to be my wife?"

My mouth fell open. "Your wife? Mason you only just asked me to be-"

"Livy, love, listen to me. I don't want you to agree without knowing that I'm in this for the real deal."

"Real deal?"

"Marriage, little kitty. I'm not just going to date you for years and never move on. I intend to date you with the thought of marriage. Do you understand?"

"Yes, and don't call me a kitty."

Mason smiled, he loved irritating her with the pet names. "And? Now that you know my intentions? What do you have to say?"

"Yes."
A large grin spread across Mason's face. "I like you Livy."

I laughed, "I like you too Mason."
Mason wiggled his eyebrows and leaned forward, his forehead nearly met mine. "Really? How much do you like me, Livy?"

"A lot." I replied. He was teasing now and I was glad, Mason was still struggling with the death of his mom. It was nice to see him teasing and happy.

"A lot, hmm? Enough to let me hold your hand?"

I giggled, "you're holding both my hands." I reminded him. He glanced down and smiled.

"Enough to let me hug you?"

"Haven't you hugged me before?"

Leaning forward even more, he breathed, "Enough to let me kiss you?"

"You want to kiss me?"

"Very much."

"You might not like it."

"I might love it."

"But what if you don't?"

"If I do, I may kiss you all the time."

"But Mason-"
My words were cut off by Mason lips. His supple lips met mine. Warm moisture flooded my mouth as his hand gently cupped my neck. His mouth weaving a magical spell over mine. It was more than I ever imagined it could be. I understood why people said they saw fireworks, though all the fireworks in the world couldn't describe the way Mason's lips made me feel. I felt his tongue touch my upper lip, I gasped in surprise and Mason seized the moment. His tongue swept into my mouth. Tenderly, sweetly, his mouth showed mine how to kiss him. The moisture of our mouths mingled and I could feel my heart pounding in my chest. I needed to touch him, I had to touch him. My hands reached out, framing his face. I nearly smiled, for with my hands placed just so, I could feel his mouth kissing me. Kissing me? No. Mason's kiss went beyond that. Mason's mouth was making love to mine. I had never felt such emotions before.
A throat cleared twice before my passion inflamed mind recognized the sound. Embarrassed, I should pulled away from Mason.
The waiter stood with our meals. "Pardon me for interrupting your dessert, but I brought your dinner." The waiter winked at Mason, while I blushed furiously. Putting our food on the table, he walked away with out another word.

Mason smiled at me. "I like you,Livy."

"How much?"

"A lot."
"Enough to kiss me again?"

Mason chuckled, "you just try and stop me." He promised.

"Never." I vowed.
