Tai and Kaydence dinner date looks in MM.

It's finally April, which means the semester will be ending in a couple weeks. I can't believe I've finally reached the end of my first year in college. This has been one crazy ride, from my drama with Rich and Delia, to my newfound friendship with Emory, and my now budding romance with Tai. And speaking of Delia, I haven't seen her since that day in the cafeteria. I'm not complaining though. The further away I stay from her, the better.

From the looks of things, my grades are great and I should be making the Honor Roll at the end of the semester. Tai said he's proud of me for keeping my grades up through everything that happened so we're going out to dinner as a mini celebration. I asked where we were going, but he said it was a surprise and for me to dress nice. I decide on a cute peach colored dress and my nude platform pumps.

Around 8pm Tai texts me to let me know he's ready. I put the finishing touches on my hair and make sure I'm good before walking out of the bathroom.

"Ooh girl! You look so cute!" Emory smiles.

"Thanks girl. You sure it's not too much? I mean he told me to dress nice for dinner, but I didn't wanna go overboard."

"No, it's perfect. You look great. I can't wait till I get a boyfriend," she gives a sad look.

"You've had a boyfriend before, right?"

"Yeah I was dating someone back home but we ended things after graduation. He went all the way to New York and I'm here and I know there's no way that would've worked."

"Yeah, long distance is hard. I think it can work out as long as both people are willing to stay committed to one another. But when you're around new people in a new place it can be hard."

"Right. I didn't even wanna risk going through being cheated on, so we decided to just be friends. We talk here and there, but not like we used to."

"Well, don't worry. When the time is right, you'll find love."

There's a knock on the door and Emory gets up to answer it. While I'm getting my stuff together Tai walks in. When it comes to dressing, Tai never fails. He's wearing a short sleeve button down shirt that has a denim print on the bottom half and is white on the top half, a pair of white jeans, and a pair of crisp, clean white sneakers. He's also rocking a few gold necklaces, which bring his outfit together.

"Wassup Emory?" He turns to me, "Hey love, you ready?"

"Yeah. Bye Emmy, see you later."

I grab my stuff and follow Tai out of the room and downstairs to his car. He opens the passenger side door for me and I get in. He gets in and we pull off.

"Baby you wearin' the hell outta that dress," Tai compliments me.

"Thank you," I smile. "You know I have to match your fly. You looking good too."

We ride about 45 minutes before pulling up outside a restaurant I've never been to.

"What's this place?" I take my seatbelt off.

"Copeland's Cheesecake Bistro. You neva been here?"

"No. I've never even heard of it."

"They're based outta New Orleans. This as close to home I'ma get without bein' there. You'll like it."

I go to open the door and Tai stops me. He gets out and comes over to my side to open the door for me. He's such a gentleman. We walk inside and Tai let's the hostess know that we have reservations. She grabs a few menus and leads us to our table. She stops at a booth and we sit down.
