I Fell In Love with my Best Friend

Chapter 3

I got my house all to myself now, thinking of what should I do to make my date perfect. When I jumped on to my bed, my bag fell down. I was about to get it but then I saw a paper. I never knew my bag was open all day yesterday. I looked into the paper. It was Gary's phone number. So that hit me with a lightbulb. I called him.

"Hello?" he said. "Hi Gary! Yeah, this is Kyla. The girl you met yesterday. I'm the one who asked you out." I replied. "Oh yeah! Hey how's it going?" he said. I don't wanna rush about the date...so we just talked first about our lives and likes. Then it just finally happened that our conversation just stopped then there I told him about the date, "Hey tomorrow, we should meet at the Mary Coffins (A Cafe store) at 9PM". "Why so late?" he asked. "I just really like dating at late nights" I answered. Then I hung up then I go downstairs and watched TV. When the commercial appears, I went to the kitchen. I get some water and looked at the clock. "Hmmm it's already 6:30, where are they?" I wandered.

After then, the boys went home. As I really can't feel Roel is sneaking up to me, he did. Seemingly tiptoing towards me then scared me. "HEY KYLA!!!" he shouted. "WAAA! Roel! Don't do that!" I said to him in a frustrated face. Dad came in with the fishing rod. "How's fishing?" I asked. "It was great! Roel actually told me everything. Haha! He's very thankful that you are not siblings." he answered. looked at him, puzzled, then Roel starts to talk, "Well not actually thankful! I'm thankful because, we're best friends!" he added to my dad. So I went upstairs again. Roel chases after me then grabs my hand "Wait! Ky! Eat dinner first! We caught a big one! " He surprisingly said. "Okay, just a minute. I have to get my cell" I replied. So yeah, we ate a huge fish they had caught. When we're finished, Roel stands up and said to me "Hey Kyla! I saw Josh earlier when we're walking down towards the lake.". "Really? What did he say?" I asked. "He doesn't know me, but I saw him carrying some flowers and...

*Flashback*

Roel: Hey! Josh right?

Josh: Umm yeah?

Roel: Yeah hey, who are those for?

Josh: Excuse me?

Roel: I'm Roel, the friend of the girl you will date tomorrow

Josh: Oh okay. Yeah this is for her. What's her name anyway?

Roel: It's Kyla. Be careful around her! Because I care way too much about my bestie

Josh: Sure!

-Roel starts to walk then stops again-

Roel: Oh yeah and be careful of a boy wearing really cool clothes. Because you're the one who's perfect for her and I trust you.

*Flashback ends*

"So you really think I would like a waiter?" I said. "Well he is a cute brunette, like the one that says on your list." he replied. "Well, yeah he is. But I think I would love Gary more because he is checked with 3 in my list" I added. I left the table with a smile on my face while Roel has a frustrated one. I locked up myself in the room while I research Josh in Facebook so we could talk. So he would be comfortable around me.  Roel sneaked up to me again. But now, he's outside the window. He knocks, "HEY!". "AHH! Stop it!" I shouted. "Just open this window!" he shouted also. I opened the door then he jumped rapidly into my room.  "What were you doing!?" I asked as he's hyperventilating. "I........just........need........to.........borrow........lap-" he faints and didn't finish the sentence. I got worried. "Roel? ROEL!" I screamed and I screamed at him. I unlocked the door and called dad, "DAD! ROEL FAINTED!". He ran up the stairs quickly and pushed the door. "What's wrong? What happened?" he wanders in a big round eyes. "He fainted while he's saying something that he will borrow my laptop? I think?" I answered. "C'mon. He needs to rest in his room." he said.

We took him to his room. MAN HE IS HEAVY! When he is now on his bed I told dad "Don't worry. I'll take it from here". Dad walks out of the room. I held Roel's hand and said "Roel please don't be acting. Coz sometimes when something bad happens to you. You act.". He moved. "OH MY GA-" I said then he covered my mouth. "Shhhhhhhh..... Just look here." he whispered. He showed me a necklace. He opens it and I see two pictures of me and him. "What's this for?" I asked. "Ummmm it's called friendship necklaces" he answered. I don't know why but hey, this looks pretty. "So whenever you're around, you'll always remember me. Worldwide." he added. I close the necklace, wear it, then I hugged Roel and said "Thank you! You're a very good friend!".
