Your first kiss is always the most memorable.

The most passionate.

The most exciting.

The most beautiful.

My mind raced as Brendon continued to kiss me under the stars. His lips were soft like a blanket. I never wanted it to end. With your first kiss, you never want to come up for air. That is unless you have to...

Brendon and I jolted away from each other as the sound of a gurgling corpse came from beside us. The corpse made its way around the barn, and grumbled louder when it saw us. Brendon pulled a small pocket knife from his pocket and sighed.

"I'll get it." He mumbled, pushing himself off the ground. I whimpered inwardly, wanting desperately to reach out and pull him back to me. Zombies, they ruin everything.

Brendon quickly took the corpse out and dragged it to the front of the barn. I stood up to go meet him, dusting the dry grass from my butt as I did.

"Well that was nice while it lasted." Brendon said. I laid my head on his shoulder and hugged his arm loosely.

"Yeah." I whispered. We stood and stared at the dead body below us for a while. I wanted to kick it. Stupid asshole ruined the moment.

"Maybe it was a sign that we should head back inside. I'm starting to freeze out here." He said. Brendon reached for my hand and walked me back to the barn entrance.

"We shall pick up where we left off at a later date, madam. Until then, I bid you goodnight." Brendon said in his best mid-evil accent. He raised my hand to his mouth a kissed it gently.

"You're such a dork." I said. We both laughed and went back inside, tiptoeing around our obstacles.

"Goodnight." Brendon mouthed from his side of the barn. I mouth 'goodnight' back and laid back down in my uncomfortable bed on the floor. I drifted to sleep with a permanent smile on my face.

"Wake up, Row, it's time to head out." Dad shook me awake. I grumbled from lack of sleep and forced myself to get up.

Everyone was frantically packing their things, running around like chickens with their heads cut off. I rolled up my blankets and stuffed them in my overflowing backpack. I put both hands on my hips, satisfied. Done.

A seemingly long time later, we all had our bags packed and headed out the door. Alex had taken the liberty of making everyone a canned corn and granola bar breakfast before we left. I already missed the unseasoned dear meat.

"What the hell?" Alex pointed at the dead corpse in front of the barn that Brendon and I had left there last night. Brendon and I exchanged looks. Everyone started asking each other who left the body there. Shit, shit, shit.

"Uh, I did that. Last night, it was banging on the door. I took it out before it woke any one else up." Brendon said. I inwardly sighed with relief. Everyone agreed to Brendon's lie and exchanged nods.

"Ok then, let's kiss this place goodbye and get the hell out of here." Alex said, leading the way. Rachel walked closely beside him while Laura trailed behind. Brady and Dad had already gotten themselves into a deep conversation, and Amelia tagged alongside Laura, both of them enjoying each other's silent company. Brendon fell back and walked a little ways in front of me, not wanting to tick off Dad's senses. He subtly reached back for my hand, wiggling his fingers in the air. I took it and grinned, looking down at the ground to hide my flushed cheeks.
