The place must have been abandoned for many years. The dust rest on every surface like the dark ashes that had fallen from the skies back when this realm was thrown into chaos. Dust blows across the stone floor where no footfall has echoed off the stone walls in the past seven decades.
The furniture is beautiful, their intricate designs barely visible in the dim light that sways back and forth. It is all like walking into the past, into the beauty of an era my mother destroyed. An old stone fireplace lays bare it's, purpose long forgotten. It felt so alone, empty. Has the stone walks ever heard the soft laughter of children at play? Who were the people who lived within these walls? Were they happy?
Did my mother take that happiness away when she blackend the skies and tore apart our realm. Had she been the cause of it's abandonment. When was the last time I had noticed such detail? Have I been so consumed on Valdis' mission that I have missed such things or is it because I have been locked away within myself for so long.
Zaine runs his fingers over the fabric of the chair in front of him. His eyes far away. He must be remembering the time he spent here. This must have been his home before my mother took it from him. Was she the real reason he sought out Valdus? Had he hoped to put an end to her as so many others have?
I sence his Pain, taste it on my tongue, smell it potent aroma. This place once of so much love now only brings him pain. I step over to him sliding under his arm and wrap mine around him, holding him close to me.
I say nothing, not wanting to cause him worse pain by digging up the past. A past that hurts him. His hand clamps over his mouth snuffing out the sob building in his throat. He looks up away from me at the stone ceiling and tears fall down his face.
This most be where he lived with his wife and son. This was their home full of happy memories before my mother ruined it for them. Did she drive them out and inadvertently lead them to their deaths and Zaine to finding Valdis. Was this another of her plots to collect ponds.
And I the wayward daughter leading a rebellion behind her back. I had been to late and far to weak to stop her as She laid waste to our realm where very few survived. Only a fourth of the realm survived and those that did where in constant battle as war ragged over food and what land had survived.
Zaine's body shakes with grief, his pain of losing his family is heavy in the stale air. Did he not have time to grieve them before he found Valdis. Is this the first time he has let himself feel the pain or is this all because he came to this place? Why did he bring me here?
I reach up my fingers grasping his hand and I guide it away from his mouth. I interlace our fingers and place my hand on the back of his neck. I bring his head down and place a gentle kiss over the middle of his forehead. I kiss the tip of his scolptes nose that has been broken more then once during his many fights.
I kiss just under both eyes where the battle scars he wears with pride, reside. I trail soft kisses down his cheek to his strong jaw line. The more places I press my lips to on this clones body the more my mind sees the true Zaine standing before me, in all his battle scared glory.
My lips find his right ear lobe that is half gone and nibble on it making his body angle into mine. I suck on it bringing the scared flesh into my mouth. He taste of spice, much like his glorious smell. I kiss biting his ear and follow his hair line to the back of his neck where I kiss and suck on his flesh. He moans his hand that is still intertwined with mine tightens as I kiss and taste every part of him leaving not even one part of him untouched. By the time I am finished his bare and in great need of me.
