Chapter 10 AB:
Arlon the DeceiverArvendana Palace
Arvendana City"Your highness," I suggested. "Offense is not always the best defense. Our people come first, and therefore I shall help them. I know the military could barely do actions in disciplining the citizens, first of all, tell me, what is the root for the peoples' insanity?"
"My grievous fault," said King Harry. "Making up this law is a terrible mistake, ending up the way I did not expect it to."
"It is not too late to take it back," I said. "Make up for it."
"Indeed lad," he replied. "From now own, I am taking down this economical change that caused the rise of turmoil in Ethaendra. To make up for it, I shall send a crate of food for each family."
"What about the ruins?" I asked. "Many homes are devastated."
"Their fault," he replied. "Arlon, go accompany the army in sending out the food, for these insane people may attack them."
"No your highness," I replied.
"You have to," he demanded. "These people fear no military, as I presume they may fear a demigod."
"What about the goblins?" I asked. "I have to convince them to stop! Additionally, my powers cannot be used as a threat against my fellows."
The lightning rod emitted light and communicated
"Destined one," it said. "Do I have to repeat myself? Your omnipotence extends to the limits to your intellect. Think wisely, as the gods chose you. Prove thy worth. We are counting on thee..."
"How?" I asked.
"Conjuration," it replied. The light from the lightning rod faded away...
"What was that?" asked King Harry.
"Give me a moment to meditate your highness," I said. "Let me analyze what the rod told me."
I mindlessly strolled around the council room, speculating what the rod meant by "conjuration."
I lifted the scepter up and charged it
"I hope I do this right," I prayed to the lightning rod.
I went outside the palace and shot down a salvo of lightning bolts from the sky, conjuring creatures as they struck the ground. I guess I have successfully executed the command of the lightning rod. I have summoned an army of sparkbats, all under my control.
"What is this?" asked King Harry, as he, together with the royal council, stared at the sparkbat horde in astonishment.
"Companions your highness," I replied. "The military needs reinforcements, and at the same time I must speak to the sovereign. This is the best plan I have come up with.
I commanded these sparkbats follow your will. Just don't dictate them wrong, as a single bite can electrocute an adult."
"Genius plan," he praised. "Now go forth and visit the goblin sovereign. This huge reinforcement of sparkbats is enough to control the people. Gods guide you Arlon, for the fate of this war lies on your choice of words."
