Chapter 5: Grocery shopping & unexpected off-guard taking turn of situations
"Why do you wear glasses?" Luke asked, on the way to the small ice cream shop on the beach.
"Because I can't see," Noelle spoke, adjusting her glasses on her small nose.
"Yeah, but you weren't wearing glasses yesterday," Luke dumbly pointed out.
Noelle sighed, smiling. "One of my contacts fell in the sink."
"That happens to Ashton, like, all the time," Luke went on.
"Aw, I love Ashton," Noelle cooed.
"Yeah, yeah," Luke muttered. "You love everyone in my band except me."
"That's because you're an annoying, whiney lanky noodle."
"That doesn't even make sense!"
"See, you're whining again." Noelle replied. "You're exactly like Amanda."
"Did you even talk to her?" He rapidly questioned.
"Uh," Noelle thought if she had to tell him about the whole fiasco or just go with the short version. "Yeah," she went with the short version.
Noelle didn't think it was that big of a deal. True, she wasn't the best person to take relationship advice from but she had an idea of how couples worked.
She looked at her white converse shoes as they walked to the beach. Mostly, because she was really bad at hiding secrets and even though Luke had just met her, he could've told there was something going on.
"Aaand..?" Luke urged.
"It's not really my place to tell," Noelle mumbled, shyly.
But of course, Luke wasn't as dumb as she thought since he caught on something was not right. "What? Why?"
"I think you should to Amanda about this. Look, ice cream!" She pointed, relief washing through her, knowing they reached the beach and they didn't have to speak about Amanda. For now.
"What are you getting?" She asked him, standing in front of the shop.
"Vanilla," Luke answered. "'M not really a fan of chocolate."
Noelle gasped, hurt. "What? Is it wrong that I don't like chocolate?"
Noelle shrugged. "Nah, it's not wrong. I'm just saying I can't trust and we can't be friends."
"Sooo funny," Luke said, after ordering their ice cream. He then got out his wallet and paid for both of their ice creams, pissing off Noelle and starting another argument with her.
They sat on the beach, quietly eating their ice creams. There was a large space between them, as Noelle had decided she didn't want to talk to him anymore.
Luke kind of wanted to talk to her because he needed her to help him with Amanda. He got his phone out, texting her.
Noodle: stop being annoying and stubborn
Okay, he shouldn't have texted that because it made Noelle even angrier. He tiptoed behind her, making sure not to let her hear his steps. As soon as he was behind her, he texted her another message.
