Chapter 25: A deity among us

Vincent and Tyler grabbed him up and put Devout on the sofa. Vincent covered the injuries assisted by Laura, who worked as a nurse. Tess and Catherine checked for cameras to see what happened and why more dead than alive lay on the ground. Chris and Talia put a cold compress on the head and some wounds to decrease the temperature. Isaac and Allison telephoned everybody because they did not know what happened there. Devout opened his eyes after an hour and roared because he was in pain and did not know what had happened. Vincent grasped his arms and roared at him while calming down.

"Where am I? What happens with my pack?" wondered Devout struggling to get up.

"What happened to you? Why do you look so bad?" questioned Catherine.

"Provide him some room because of having a trauma," advised Tess and took a few steps back.

"Who accomplished this for you? What happen?" asked Chris trying to find more information.

"The unique thing I recall is about Shiprock," recalled and related. "I go there because something inside of me devours me."

"Why do you have this feeling? When does it begin?" asked Laura creeping about what heard.

"After I revived your parents and you," replied Devout and took some long breaths to calm down.

"Did you think of anything else?" Chris inquired.

"All I remember is collapsing when something exists from me," Devout recalled.

"Vincent? Will he be going and surviving? Why did your blood turn black?" asked Tess worried about his wound.

"You say that because you see the huge open wound," Talia observed, adding. "If the blood turns from black to red, that means."

"The healing process will start," murmured Devout.

"I realize you have wounds and look horrible," observed Isaac, and wondered. "Something else bothers you?"

"Is this my entire fault? I told them it was dangerous, but they accompanied me, and they are dead," blamed Devout for his actions.

"How do you determinate that?" asked Allison trying to understand what happened.

"Because I experienced it," responded Devout.

"Don't roar at her because it's her responsibility for what occurs, and you recognize that," explained Derek.

"Sorry, I didn't want to roar," apologized Devout.

"I acknowledge it wasn't your responsibility," replied Allison.

"You wanted to revive us, but a part of you doesn't desire it," wondered Tyler.

"Definitely," replied Devout, and he explained. "That part wants to take control over me."

"Doesn't anyone plant video equipment at Shiprock?" Braeden inquired.

"You need to rest and calm down because you are okay here," answered Vincent.

"Offer me your hand," advised Derek.

"You don't want to feel like I feel," murmured Devout and saw how took his pain.

"Laura? How come you look so good at him?" questioned Talia.

"You can shift into the huge wolf form?" asked Laura.

"You are happy about it," murmured Devout, and wondered. "Wait, why do I look unique?"

"You look like an enormous wolf," replied Isaac remembering his old form.

"Why did that monstrous form vanish?" questioned Allison
