i like my seat, not because it's at the very back corner beside the window but because i'm exactly behind her. i often imagined how it would feel to sit in the empty seat beside hers, being in such close proximity of her would definitely result with me making  a fool out of myself multiple of times.

my seat mate was pretty chill aswell. sephy her name was. we weren't close but we were still friendly towards each other. she was a nice bubbly girl. sometimes i would hear her muttering to herself or humming a lively tune. she leaves me alone to my uncontrollable thoughts and doesn't try to make small talk with me like my previous seatmate and for that, i am grateful.

if i was ever to become king or president or whatever of south korea i would kill off everyone here except sephy and her. okay maybe i wouldn't go that far but maybe i would create a less dangerous and death influenced concentration camp and place everyone i hated there. maybe then finally would the world become a better place.

my maths teacher walked in and banged his ruler on the table, snapping me out of my train of thoughts.

"alrighty class, attention please! i've some good news and some bad news, what would you like to hear first?"

he seemed like he was in a good mood, a small smile lingering on his old face. well this was a first.

the class shouted mixed responses. "the good, the good"

"no no the bad"

"enough enough. the good news is that you will not be getting any homework tonight"

the class erupted, crying cheers of happiness. i wanted to celebrate too but after years of having him as my teacher i knew there was a catch. there had to be. nothing came this easy in life.

"but for this class we shall be having a surprise test--"

groans and complaints could be heard as students began quickly opening notes and cramming the massive amounts of information in the limited amount of time. a small sign escaped her lips as she tousled her long black hair.

i also began to panic. i had not revised at all. heck for the past few weeks i hadn't even been doing my homework, i really must properly thank sephy for that. well i guess whatever happens will happen, if it's written in my destiny that i fail this maths exam then so be it.

mr.park started handing out the thick handouts. "you are to attempt every question, even if it seems hard give it a go, there's no pressure but if you fail this paper you will be kicked out of my class and lastly there is to be no talking under any circumstances, if you do so your test will canceled end of story. do i make myself clear? you may begin"

and with that the seconds ticked on which led me closer to what was inevitably, my failure.
