A little boy, at the age of six has been introduced to a gun.

He thinks it's harmless, that it won't hurt anyone.

A young girl, at the age of nine learns how to stereotype.

That a person's social class level is based on his genotype.

The little boy, now a teen, laughs along with his friends.

They joke of touching other girls, it's all fun and laughs to them.

Another girl is teased for the cloth around her head.

And now she feels ashamed of her belief when she should be glad instead.

A boy comes home with a busted lip and an arm severely bruised

because they think that being gay is a reasonable right for abuse.

Because of the color of her skin, a girl is afraid to speak.

Their whispers turn into shouts that has made her weak.

That boy is not allowed to have a mind of his own.

That girl was influenced by society that it's better to be skin and bone.

He was told to shut his mouth because it's better not to be involved.

She was told that despite her efforts, her matters would never be resolved.

This is the world we live in. Filled with hatred, anger and lies.

False hope and insecurity, extreme standards that we must live by.

Is there still hope for peace in this blood-stained, weary place?

Will there ever come a time where we aren't judged by our gender, body, sexual preference or race?
