She once shone with such brilliance,
It blinded me.
I saw her shooting across the sky,
And then I caught her,
And kept her,
In my hands,
Where she didn't belong.
And I held her for too long,
Until it was too late.
Until she forgot how to shine.
I knew then,
To let the beautiful things free.
