Things started getting worse for Annie at the Uni. There were no barriers left to keep her bullies at bay anymore. Earlier, they could be pleaded, in return of finishing off their projects and assignments they would leave her alone in peace for a few weeks. But now it was war.

The three remaining bullies were pledged to take revenge on her for putting their friends into the reform house. It was no more an entertainment to them, she had become a threat to their manhood and power.

Annie started finding trash in her bag. Bits of crumpled papers, banana peels, packets and such other rubbish. Rebecca and Joanna ignored her completely. They seemed to have some hidden agenda against her. Literally pushing past her whenever they came face to face with her. Making her feel intimidated everytime they had the slightest chance to dominate over her. She tolerated it all very quietly, thinking they would perhaps eventually stop pestering her when they got bored of her. But that never happened. It only kept increasing.

Earlier, she could still talk a bit about these things with her mom. Not quite too much because then her mom had the tendency to become a monster with a freaking axe searching for the little devils who dared to upset her daughter and vowing to obiterate them from the face of the Earth. Yeah, creepy as that sounds she always loved that protective side of her mom. She knew that if worse went down to worst, there was someone at the back to defend her in the end. However, nowadays she noticed that her mom and dad seldom spent time at home. When her mom had holidays, her dad would be overseas for work. And when her dad returned, which was very rare, her mom would come home late into the night.

Even having dinner together as a family had become less and less over the years. In the last few months, she could hardly recall when was the last time they actually sat down for a meal together. Annie thought maybe they were really busy with their own work. But whatever the reason, she knew for a fact that her mom was more distracted lately. Once or twice she caught her smoking outside in the lawn, walking about in between the shrubberies and picking at the leaves absentmindedly. She wondered what could be bothering her mom so much but when she asked her about it, she always brushed it off saying it was stress from work.

Annie often worried about how her parents had no time for each other recently. But she felt probably she was overthinking again. So she decided atleast not to add to their stress by complaining about her own hardships and try tolerating the bullshit she faced at the Uni all by herself.

That evening she was sitting with Fluffy and thinking about all this in her head when suddenly her phone gave a buzz.

Annie picked it up from the bed and looked at the unknown number who had sent her a text. She opened her inbox.

Stop thinking about me. ;)

Annie stared at the message and thought, who could this be?

She started typing.

Who is this?

Instantly there was a reply.

Ouch. That hurt. Dont tell me you havent saved my number sweetheart..

No ... i havent. -__-
Who are you?!

Haha. Dont worry. I am not a murderer. ;)

As if i was scared. -_-

Annie looked at her window nevertheless, to make sure it was locked. She didnt want any weird stranger to jump inside her room through the window again!

Oh. Then why did you turn towards your window just now? ;)

How does every unknown person know what she is doing?! Annie felt frustrated.

Stop fooling around. Spit it.. who are you?

Curious much? :)

Nevermind. I dont want to talk to you.

Wont you ask how i got your number?

I dont know why i bother to reply.

Because you miss me. ;)

Oh please. I dont even know who you are!

Check the first chain of your bag. ;)

What? Why?! What's there?

Just check it. :P

Annie lifted Fluffy from her lap and got out of her bed. She looked around her room suspiciously, expecting someone to appear in front of her any moment. Then she got her bag and opened the first chain.

She could see a brown package inside. She took it out and hastily unwrapped it. There was a tiny jar of cookie sprinkles and a little note stuck on it.

'For the one who dances like a klutz ;)'

Dances like a klutz? I dont dance.

And thats when Annie remembered. The dance with Bryan. She felt the colour rising in her cheeks.

As if I wanted to dance. Klutz huh? .. Hmph.

Even though it was cliché and even though he had been a jerk that night, she couldnt help blushing on recalling how she had danced on that day. How she was practically standing on top of his feet and everyone gathered there were staring at her.

She heard her phone buzz again.

Hahaha. I made you blush, didnt I? :P

Not at all. Then she added, thanks.

You're welcome. :)
Are you still mad at me?

It would be lying if she said yes. Annie looked at the teeny choco chip cookies in her hand and smiled a little. Food always wins her over. She thought of what to tell him. Then she decided to avoid it.

How did you get my number?

Haha. You are still mad.
Max gave it. ;)

She knew it was an obvious question. Who else could have given him the number. But she felt irritated all the same. Afterall, this guy was a sweet talker. And she was never going to forget that. And also she had a fear that she was already becoming soft towards him. No.. no no. She thought to herself, no amount of cookies or Dutch truffles or any other delicious thing can waver my heart. I wont let food get in between my relationship goals. Noways. Not with this guy atleast.
