Who would have known Bryan would turn out to be such a charming ladies man?!
I hated it.
The whole time he kept me company.
He walked around the large hall with easy grace, taking me along and introducing me to all the different people present there.
He shook hands with the men and smiled at the ladies, flashing his dazzling white teeth at them. They doted on him completely!
It felt sickening, almost revolting to witness how much influence he held on his relatives and how much popular he was among the girls. And girls of all ages!
With every passing minute I felt more and more afraid. Scared that I would fall in that abyss. And start liking him myself.
I knew he was a jerk almost by a sixth sense. He seemed to be holding back something from me.
And as my eyes darted across the place trying to spot Lily or her brother Max, Bryan picked up two wine glasses from the tray a passing bearer was carrying and offered me one of the drink.
"Would you like to have a drink, my lady?" He asked me, his smile dimpling his cheek.
I shook my head sideways and refused him. I couldnt still think cohesively, and tried to will myself to calm down. For sometime now, I was finding his stupid smiles very distracting and he seemed to take advantage of it, smiling at me without any reason every now and then.
The boy was so annoying.
The fact that he was sweet and handsome made me more annoyed with him. Because I was frightened to fall as his prey. Max believed his charm wont work on me. But oh! How wrong he was to think that.
All I could do was stop myself from gasping when he tugged my wrist suddenly. I stared at him and before I could question him what he was trying to do, he raised his other hand and lightly trailed his finger by the side of my cheek.
I was standing there, terrified. Unable to move, unable to speak. Confused, as my mind broke into chaos inside me and my hormones fell all over each other in my head.
"You should try to relax a bit. Did Max tell you something about me?" He asked me softly in a bare whisper while playing with a strand of my hair.
I still couldnt find my voice as I frantically worked myself into more panic because of the closing physical gap between the two of us.
I winced and tried to look behind him, searching for some help.
He chuckled and let go of my wrist.
And I fell three steps back in horror.
He was enjoying my fear and reaction to him!
"I need to visit the girl's room." I managed to mutter before leaving him hastily.
I walked straight into one of the washrooms and stood looking at myself in the mirror. The terrified eyes of my reflection stared back at me from her pale face.
My pulse was still throbbing in my ears and throat. I felt a little shaken up and dizzy.
I took a deep breath and tried to calm myself. I needed to be strong. It was only a matter of a few more hours.
I chanted some shit about i can do it stuff in my head before glancing one last time at my reflection and walking out again with renewed determination.
