I woke up in a hospital bed. Strapped up to machines. Jessabell was there by my side crying. "Damien! you've finally woken up!" I looked at her confused. "What happened? What happened to Garrett? An to ..the others.. The corrupted.." She tiled her head and held my hands. "Damien, you've been in a coma for 2 years. The doctors said you'd never wake up again" I was in a coma? I sank into the bed. "But..what about them?" Her eyes were filled with tears. "Damien, there's no one named Garrett. That was all a dream. You were in a car accident when you went to visit your family ..and" I stopped her from talking and leaned forward. "What about Grace?" She adverted her eyes from me. "She died in the accident,Damien" I gripped on her hands. "What about..the corrupted and the wall?" Stroking the hair out of my face she kissed my forehead. "They don't exist,Damien"
It had all been a dream. None of it ever happened. "But what about us?" She smiled slightly. "We've been dating since high school" She pecked my lips slightly and walked away "Get some rest,Damien. I'll be right back" She went out of the room leaving me alone. I blinked the tears out of my eyes.
Standing infront of my bed was Garrett. "I told you I was going to find a cure" A gentle smile swept across his face as he faded away. I never saw that kind of smile on him.
I couldn't believe it. The Corrupted, the wall, even Garrett. Had all been a dream. I closed my eyes and it all came back to me. All my fears went away, all the pain.
I smiled as I stared out the window. It was finally over. My nightmare ..was over
