I woke up the next morning with the blistering sun, shining through my window. It lit the room up with natural sunlight. I sat up and stretched. I put on some slippers and went downstairs.  Junior was already eating breakfast. Dad was cooking Bacon and Eggs, the traditional. “Hey want some breakfast?” he greeted me. “Sure!” I sat down beside Junior. “Dad said we can walk around the place and go shopping if you want?” Junior asked. “Yeah sure that’d be great” I agreed. I then remembered about the boat last night and brought it up. After a bite of toast I said “Dad did you hear the boat last night?” “No why are you asking?” “A boat woke me up last night so I was just wondering that’s all” I replied. That’s weird I thought. Junior looked at me confused.

After breakfast Junior and I headed down to the beach. I kicked the sand in front of me as we walked along the shoreline. “So where do you want to go?” Junior asked. “Dad said there is some clothing and surf stores near Blue Islanders so we can try there” “Yeah that sounds good”. Suddenly we both heard a scream and a person came running by us white as a ghost. “Whoa are you okay?” I asked the guy. He pointed to the crowd of people in the distance but didn't say anything and continued running. “I wonder what’s going on” Junior said. “Me too” I said wondering if it was connected to the boat last night. We started to run to the scene. All the people were in a circle surrounding something so we tried to get a better look. A person lay on the ground in a pool of blood. She was still breathing.  Two men were kneeling down beside her. “Excuse me but what has happened?” I asked one of the officers. The police officer looked at me and said “It seems she has been bitten by a shark at her side”. He pointed to where the bite occurred. “Is she going to be okay?” “We will have to see” he replied.  After that I noticed a boat that was nearby. Then it came to me these were the two men on the boat last night! They saw me looking at them and I turned to Junior. “Why don’t we go to one of those stores now?” I said gesturing towards the surf store. We turned away from the scene and walked up the steps and entered the store. The bell had rung when we entered acknowledging our entrance. A guy with blond hair and blue eyes came up to ask “Do you need any help?” I was about to say something but no words came out. I was in complete awe of how gorgeous he looked. Junior nudged me and I came back to earth. “I think were okay just looking for a couple of surf boards” I managed to say without choking. “Well I think you came to the right place” he laughed. I laughed a little too much and I leaned on a pile of surf boards and they went tumbling down. I tried to catch them but was unsuccessful. “Oh my gosh! I’m so sorry” I said in embarrassment. “It’s okay it happens all the time” he reassured me, trying not to laugh in the process. I felt my face turn red. Junior looked at me and laughed as surf boy walked away to help another customer. “Shut up” I said laughing as well. I put the surf boards back to where they were. Junior and I then looked around the store and found two surf boards for us. Mine has blue waves and sea horses. Junior has the same board but instead of sea horses he has Jelly Fishes on it.

After the surf store and buying clothes we went back to the house. Dad was making lunch. He noticed us come in. “Hey guys how was shopping” he asked. “Good” I said. “Carrie has a new love interest” Junior laughed. “No I don’t!” I sounded unconvincing. “Your face turned tomato red when you saw him” Junior challenged me. “Tomato red I think that’s a sign” my dad said. He high fived Junior. “Boys” I mumbled. Dad then spotted the surf boards. “Those are great boards maybe we can test them out later” he suggested. “Sounds great” we both said. We then sat down and ate lunch. “Where’s Grandma?” I asked. “She is at the Aquarium” Dad replied. Our family also owns an Aquarium called Blue Aquarium. It is quite amazing I have to say. “Can we go there today” I asked. “Absolutely” Dad agreed.

Before visiting the Aquarium Dad gave Junior and I our first surf lesson. The water felt great and the waves were perfect says my dad, the pro surfer. It’s hard at first but you get the hang of it later I find. Junior did well too. He hit a couple of waves perfectly. We then walked to the Blue Aquarium. We opened the glass doors, inside was incredible! It was like a whole ocean in there. There was: Sea horses, Beluga Whales, Turtles, different color of fish etc. “Wow” I said. “This place is amazing!” Junior said in amazement. Dad and I laughed as Junior went to explore. Dad put his arm around me “So what do you think?” he asked. “It’s incredible!” Dad smiled and then introduced some sea creatures to me. As he showed me the Sea Lion a guy with brown hair and blue eyes came up to my dad carrying a bag of food. “Good afternoon Mr. Blue, how are you today?” he asked. “I’m very well, thank you” Dad said. Aquarium guy looked at me and smiled. I returned the smile. Dad noticed and said” Oh Miles this is my daughter Caribbean, Miles has been working for us over the summer” he introduced us.  “It’s nice to meet you” he stuck his hand out and I shook it. “Call me Carrie” I said smiling. “Carrie” he said and his blue eyes sparkled. “Well I should be getting back to work” Miles said. “As you might” my dad instructed.  “Nice to meet you” he said walking away from us. “You too” I said quietly. Dad gave me a look. “What?” I said. “You can’t fool this guy” and he pointed to himself. “Oh Dad” I said laughing. We walked over to Junior and examined more fish, Grandma then came by. “Hi Grandma” Junior and I said. “Hi kids” she greeted us.

After the Aquarium we had dinner then went to bed early since school started the next day. I have a feeling I’m going to like it here; I’m have a good time already! I thought about what my new school was going to be like and I fell asleep.
