Daniel's P.O.V.
I was expecting her to pass out, but I wasn't expecting her to take so long. I thought she was taking everything rather well up until the point where they came. It was common that they would teleport themselves here, but it wasn't common for Aura.
Aura. Was it wrong that her very name made me feel something so strong? When I first met her I didn't expect her to get so close. But it is like it was fated from the beginning. And even though it was dangerous for her to be around me (the main reason I made Rebecca stay away) I couldn't seem to stay away. When I was angry, she seemed to calm me down and make everything better. She was the complete opposite of Rebecca and maybe that's the reason why I loved her. Yes, loved her. But I wasn't planning on telling her that anytime soon. She had enough to deal with and it's not like I could act on my feelings.
But this brings me to another problem, the problem being Rebecca. And what business she had with Aura. I wouldn't have thought anything of it if she hadn't been acting so weird. She gave herself away and it was taking all my will power not to dig into her mind and figure out what she was hiding. She will tell me when she's ready, I hope. And I know that I will instantly forgive her, I wouldn't do anything to make her leave. It would destroy me, I haven't felt anything so strong for anyone- not even Rebecca. Maybe it was the way she was so nonchalant about everything- I don't know. She wasn't over dramatic or crazy, she was a perfect blend.
"We have to wake her up, we are wasting precious time!" Artemis said waking me from my thoughts. He glared impatiently at sleeping Aura and it made me angry. No one could be as heartless as him. Ignoring him, I walked over to Aura who was laying on the couch and gently shook her. She continued to sleep peacefully and I smiled despite the situation. I knew shaking her wouldn't wake her up, she could sleep through a raging war happening around her.
"Forget this," Artemis snarled and Aura start to stir. I glared at Artemis who eyes had become a shade darker and who was smirking knowingly at me.
"I don't want you using your powers on her Artemis. That goes for all of you," I said to them and they looked at me innocently. All except Artemis who gave me a smug look. How I hated this man.
"What's going on?" I heard Aura say and I turned to her. She was holding her head and her eyes were still closed. I removed her hands and her eyes slowly opened showing me those grey orbs that I loved.
"Excuse me Ms. Thomas, but we really need you to tell us what happened between you and Sabrina," Irvisa politely said and Aura's eyes widen when she saw all of them.
"I thought it was all a dream," she whispered, her face going pale.
"No, I wish it was but its not. These people are here to hear your story Aura," I told her and she stared at me. My heart stopped at her expression, she was afraid of me.
"What are you?" she whispered and before I could speak Artemis interrupted.
"He'll explain that later, can you tell me what she said. We don't have all day." I glared at him before turning back to Aura who to my surprise was standing. She nodded slowly and spoke.
"Daniel just left me when she came. She told me she was your sister," she told me and then looked back at the crowd who was listening intently. "She told me things that only I knew." She bit her lip and I knew that she was hiding something. This wasn't the perfect time to leave details out but I will let her for now. She was dealing with a lot.
"What happened after that?" I urged her on but she wouldn't look at me. It didn't make me feel good.
"She- she froze time. Everyone wasn't moving, only me and her. I was so scared, I thought I was going to die. She made me stand up even though I didn't want to. It was horrible. Her nose started to bleed and she smiled. She told me to tell you that its time. Then she unfroze time and left." Her eyes were closed as she told the story and I felt so bad for her. I should have stayed away, she wouldn't be here right now if I did.
"Honey, she didn't freeze time. She just froze everyone in the room. She is not that powerful, especially since what she was doing was causing harm to her body," my mother said as a form of encouragement and I scowled. Not much help mom, I sent to her and she rolled her eyes in my direction but didn't answer.
"We still don't know what they are planning, are you sure that that is all she said?" Artemis asked and she nodded her head. He sighed and spoke once more. "This was a waste, we have nothing to go off of. She might as well not have visited you at all, what was her purpose?"
"I don't know Artemis, but maybe she could lead us to Sabrina. We all know once Sabrina starts, she'll finish," Priscella said and Aura tensed next to me.
"No, I'm keeping Sabrina away from he,." I told them and Artemis scoffed.
"Alright, keep Sabrina away. But once she finishes her plan and the world is in ruins, at least we know precious Aura was safe."
"What the hell are you people?!" Aura yelled, stopping me and Artemis from getting into a heated argument. I sighed before speaking. I couldn't hide it anymore, there was no way for me not to tell her.
"Aura, we are known as Conjurers," I confessed and she gave me a confused look. I continued my explanation "You see, we are not regular humans- we have powers. It could either be used for good or in my sister's case evil. They are called Nemesis. And they are-"
"Is this some kind of joke?" she asked cutting me off.
"No, I'm telling the truth. I don't think you need any proof. You could think of us as witches, that's what we basically are to an extent."
"So, are there vampires and werewolves and pixies and leprechauns too?" she asked as a joke. When I didn't answer, her eyes widened. "You have got to be kidding me."
"Us Conjurers are here to keep the balance. Make sure nothing happens to threaten each other. But we are not superior to them, we have people to watch over us. They are called The Guardians. In order to make sure we don't get out of hand, we are to take a pill that surpresses our power but some people don't agree with that they are doing. They feel that we should be the ones to take over and they are called Nemesis."
"They are planning something big and we don't know what. The Guardians have ordered us to stop taking the pill so we could be a match for them and that's why I burned Rebecca. It was an accident. It would be easier to find out if we knew who was on which side. We can't look at one another and see a Conjurer or a Nemesis, we just see us. So that adds to our little problem. We need to find out what exactly they are up to in order to stop them."
"So how do you know all of these people are good?" she asked me. I wasn't expecting that question and it took me by surprise.
"Because standing before you right now are The Guardians," I explained and she looked around impassively. Once again, I had to stop myself from probing into her mind.
"I don't believe any of this," she stated and crossed her arms.
Artemis smiled but it didn't reach his eyes. "We appeared from thin air and you still don't believe us? Well let me give a demonstration." He narrowed his eyes on Aura and the room began to shake. Glass started shattering everywhere and Aura screamed hiding behind me.
"Alright, stop she gets it!" I yelled and he stopped, laughing.
"Artemis you fool," Irvisa said and held out her arm. All the shattered glass rose from the ground and went back to their rightful place, fixing itself. I felt Aura fall behind me and I groaned in frustration. "Look, what you did you made her faint again."
"What's going on here?" the door opened and in walked my dad. He looked nothing like the rest of the family- he had black hair and eyes to match. He watched everyone curiously until he noticed Aura on the floor. "What happened to her? Why is she even here?"
I sighed and picked Aura up and placed her on the couch. She's not going to be happy repeating everything to my father.
