Oh i feel overjoyed-dan smith

Like a brother to me

This next chapter is dedicated to my friend Jfrog1998 because she's amazing and lovely and just generally great :) Anywayyyy on with the story(writing this at 1.50pm)

Lily's P.O.V

We had been driving for a little while when dan turned on the radio.

"And the walls kept tumbling down in this city that we loveee"

it was Pompeii! Dan suddenly turned off the radio before the chorus even came in. He seemed angry or maybe upset. I bit my lip and he glanced at me.

"Sorry" he said " I just hate hearing our songs on the radio, I just don't feel we deserve it, it's just weird ya know?" His words were separated and you could tell he didn't know how to explain his feelings.

"But... You do deserve it dan! You've worked just as hard as any other music artist Probarly harder!" I argued. He smirked.

"Thanks kiddo" he laughed.

It wasn't long till we pulled up outside dans flat. He helped me out the car and fetched the crutches out the boot.

"We can take the lift!" Dan said "I've never used the lift before!"

"Nutter" I smirked as he led the way. When we got to the lift dan sighed "it's out of order!" He said pointing at a sigh taped to the lift door."guess well have to take the stairs" dan said turning a corner.

"It's 9 floors up , are you gonna be okay?" I nodded.

Dans P.O.V

I was already 9 steps up and lily has only just made the second step. You could tell she was struggling. The crutches were to big for her arms and she was already tired. I smiled at her as she toke another step. But that was it, I couldn't have her struggling like this. I ran down to her.

"Get on my back" I said.

"Seriously?"she said. I nodded. She handed me the crutches and jumped onto my back her arms round my waist.

"Okay let's go!" I ran up the stairs full speed.

" stop Daniel!" Lily squealed. I carried on going even faster. But then I banged into a man coming out of his flat.

"Mind where your going!" He shouted angrily ,tutting as he went. When he was out of sight we burst out laughing and spluttering. I carried on running with her attached to my back till we reached my room. I carefully placed her on the floor whilst I searched for my keys. I unlocked the door and grinned when I peeked inside.

"SURPRISE !" will,Kyle and woody shouted letting off party poppers as me and lily walked inside. Lilly jumped straight out of her skin and we all laughed.

"You scared me!" Lilly said laughing.we all got together for a big hug then woody said"let's do some introducing shall we?"

"I know who you all are!" Lilly said. "Your woody, he's Kyle and that's will" she said pointing at each member in turn.

"She's a dedicated fan, is our lily" I said.

"Okay then lets party!" Woody said turning on some music.

"I'm so glad your here and that your getting better" I whispered into Lilly's ear she smiled.

2 hours later.

Lilly's P.O.V

The party was great. I couldn't really dance properly on crutches but it was still fun. We ate tons of pizza and played games. Woody taught me how to play some basic beats on the drums and Kyle let me put his hair Into little plaits. Everything was great, kinda like a dream. I was having a party with all 4 members of bastille. That's was the crazy thought.it wasn't long till Kyle,woody and will headed off.

"Get well soon munchkin" Kyle kissed my forehead and left completely oblivious that his hair was still in plaits. Woody and will left too. Woody giving me a big hug and will ruffling my hair.

"See you soon little stormer!" Will said. They shut the door and I sat on the sofa. Dan came over and sat next to me his hair a complete mess.

"Did you enjoy that?" He said taking a swig of Beer.

"It was fab! Thank you so much dan!" I said hugging him tightly

"Pleasure" he said, then he sighed " guess you better ring your parents" he said sadly. I felt suddenly sad. All this excitement and happiness suddenly smashed by the reality of my world. My dark scary world.

" please ..l just let me stay here one night, it's late anyway and I just.." I burst out crying. The thought of dad punishing me for not being home and being made to go back to school frightened me. I didn't want to go back. Dan hugged me then looked me deep in the eyes.

"Okay you can stay here tonight only if you promise me to stop crying I hate it when you cry" dan said whipping a tear from my cheek. He kissed my forehead and gave me another hug, his friendly warmth rippled through my body.

"I love you dan" I said "you've been like a brother to me"

He blushed. I'd never seen him blush before.

" we'll you've been like a little sister to me... Lilly I just want to protect you and keep you safe you don't deserve to be treated how you are ,you deserve to be happy ,your such a nice kid I just want you to be healthy and happy... That's all I want" his words slowly faded and he looked away from me embarrassed.

"Dan ....that's the nicest thing anyone's ever said to me before" I said.

"We'll it's all true" he said ruffling his hair" so true"
