You skipped down the dirt path leading to the hiking trails. You greatly enjoyed walking through these not only because to see wildlife, but to get out of the apartment and stretch your legs. The bright sunlight through the trees, the sight of squirrels leaping from branch to branch made you smile as you made your way down the forest path.
[Time Skip]
After a bit of sitting on fallen logs to observe the birds and animals, you decided to make your way back home. Then you got the strange feeling of being watched that grew rather eerie. Normally, you never felt this way in the woods, so why did you feel like this now? You walked a bit faster, and broke into a run when you heard a twig snap. Cowardly, yes, but it was only out of instinct. No doubt, you felt as if you were in some kind of danger and had to get away as far as possible. You narrowly missed a skinny tree before finally running out of breath and coming to a halt. Your blood froze as you heard incoming footsteps. Fear froze you to the ground, unable to move as you could only look on helplessly as a large saber-toothed tiger was charging your way, it's eyes wild and locked onto yours. You quickly grabbed a nearby rock and chucked it at the large feline's head, hitting it in-between the eyes. That slowed it down a bit, allowing you to climb into a tree to safety. Everytime the tiger attempted to climb up, you simply kept kicking it down in hopes it would lose interest. But the feline only got more furious, it's tail lashing angerily as every try to get up the tree was thwarted.
"Go on, cat, shoo!" You shouted at it, gripping onto a large branch in an attempt to snap it to use as a weapon.
The tiger leaped up again, tearing off a bit of your jacket as it's large teeth missed. You winced, seeing how easily those teeth tore the fabric off.
Just when it seemed the tiger was going to strike again, a brightly colored flash aimed at it sent it flying into the woods, where it did not get up.
You looked up to see that somewhat familiar face looking up at you.
"Woman, you ok?" The man grunted.
"Y-yeah," you stammered, still a bit shaken, climbing down the tree. "Hey Vegeta."
"Hmph, you're lucky I managed to hear your cries for help in time," the saiyan prince scowled. "Otherwise, you could've ended up as a carcass."
You shuddered at the thought but smirked. "Well, thanks for saving my ass."
Vegeta only slightly laughed. "Don't thank me." His dark ebony eyes glared into yours. "I won't save you again."
"Then why'd you save me in the first place?" You lightly teased.
That made the saiyan mumble something under his breath, unable to make out what he said. "Just be lucky," he said a bit louder. "Oh and y/n, expect me to see you again soon." Then he was gone, took off into the sky before you could ask what he meant by that, leaving you slightly confused, but you decided to head on out of the woods and on home before any other animals would try anything.
[Time Skip again]
"What took you so long to get home?" Your friend, f/n (friend's name), asked.
"Er... had a bit of trouble," you vaguely explained. "But luckily for me, that guy I told you about saved me before I ended up as food."
F/n gasped. "Oh my god, you alright? I mean, at least that guy saved you, and I'm happy for that."
You held up the torn part of your jacket. "And I just bought this to..."
F/n scoffed. "Hey, y/n, just be glad your own body wasn't torn," he/she muttered.
You shrugged. "But hey, at least I'm safe and sound now." You looked out the window, as if you were hoping to catch a glimpse of Vegeta soaring into the sky. Much to your disappointment, you didn't see him, but only replayed his mysterious words in your mind;
"Expect me to see you again soon."
