You were discovered on a planet the infamous Lord Frieza had just recently conquered, a small icejin with s/c skin and f/c biogems. You showed no fear at the sight of the tyrant when you first laid eyes on him, as you recognized him as one of your own kind. When the Lord questioned you about your parent(s), you swore you had no recollection of them. Seeing no reason to abandon a vulnerable icejin with the icejin race slowly dying off, Frieza took you in.
That was three years ago, and you were currently playing a game of Hide-and-seek with Frieza's son Kuriza. As your closest friend counted with his crimson eyes hopefully covered, you snuck of to Frieza's personal chambers which was empty much to your delight. You weren't exactly supposed to be in there, but you knew Kuriza wouldn't find you in the chambers. You crept under Lord Frieza's bed and remained there as Kuriza shouted from a distance,
"Ready or not, here I come y/n!"
You silently snickered to yourself as you heard Kuriza's little feet dashing throughout the palace, getting louder before growing fainter. You were pretty confident that Kuriza would soon give up and you would win, until you heard Frieza's voice ask his son,
"What are you doing?"
To which, Kuriza promptly answered with, "me and y/n are playing Hide-and-seek and I can't find her. Wanna play?"
You heard Frieza sigh. Despite the tyrant's reputation as a cold-hearted heartless monster, he was never one to turn down his son. "Alright..."
From under the bed, you saw Kuriza pull his father into the room. Kuriza let go and began searching. First, he checked the closet, then he moved to the bed. After the prince checked the covers, he glanced under the bed, his red eyes meeting with your e/c ones.
"Found her!" Kuriza reeled back and raised his head triumphantly.
You crawled out from under the bed only to hear a sigh from Lord Frieza.
"Y/n, you realize you can't play in my chambers, right?" His tone was soft, as if he were scolding you gently but his own crimson eyes burned through your s/c skin. You pointedly looked away to avoid both their gazes. If a gaint hole were to open up and engulf you, now was the perfect time. You hated being embarrassed around your crush. Yes, its true you've always held a fondness for Kuriza. He was the reason you even bothered to stay at the palace with little to no complaints.
You dared to glance back at Frieza with an ashamed, crestfallen expression. "I'm sorry Mister Frieza," you said solemnly. "I won't play in your quarters again."
Frieza gave you a small satisfied nod before shooing you and Kuriza out so he could take a nap.
"How about we play a different game?" Kuriza suggested. "Preferably one where we're not running around the palace and getting in Father's way."
Your sour mood faded when you caught a glimpse of the smile on Kuriza's face.
"Yeah, agreeable." You flashed him a silly playful grin back at Kuriza. "I bet I'll beat you at chess."
_______________________________________{Kuriza's POV}
We played chess for what seemed like an eternity, while sharing a nice conversation and teasing each other. As I waited for my turn, my childlike mind ran wild with gratitude. For y/n, who became such a good friend. Maybe even more than just a friend. And for my father, who half-invited, half-forced y/n to stay. In Father's mind, he depicted y/n as vulnerable, and he wasn't about to let the possible last member of his kind that wasn't his kin slip away and die. I hope I never have to lose her, not after all she's done for us.
She nudges my arm, pulling me out of my thoughts, then motions to the board as if to say "your turn". I grinned, and went back to playing our game.
She eventually beat me at chess, which I wasn't one to complain about since it proves how smart y/n truly is.
{Timeskip}
That was such a long time ago, when me and y/n were kids. The memories that little icejin girl and me shared was absolutely priceless. We were grown adults now and also grew distant as I was busied with tutors and educated in martial arts. I had barely any time to spend with my precious y/n, and although I remained in the palace to rule alongside my father, y/n was drafted into the Frieza Force. It broke my heart a little to see her go like that. I'd see her from time to time whenever I ventured out to our capital planets, though I never talked to her. Until now that is.
I always feared that y/n would not recognize me, but today I pushed away that fear. I was going to confront her, bombard her with questions only she could answer, and ask her to return to the palace with me. Much to my father's distaste, I'd grown attached to y/n, and I feared that this could be the last time I would ever catch a glimpse of her... my childhood friend, the girl of my dreams. I walk over to her now, and y/n gave me a surprised look.
"Kuriza?" She murmurs softly, staring into my eyes.
I slowly nodded. "Yes, its me..." My fists clench tightly. "Why did you leave, y/n? Why did you join the Frieza Force?"
Her e/c eyes widened. "I-I wanted to be useful. I didn't see me as much of a use in the palace. I was only there because of you. Then you got busy with tutors and mentors, and I figured it was time for me to start a life of my own."
I didn't see even a slight gleam of sadness to her eyes. They were full of regret. Y/n actually regretted leaving.
I grasp her hands, my grip firm but gentle. We were close, our lips close to touching. As much as I wanted to seal the distance between us, I finaly sighed and pulled away. "You shouldn't have left..." I muttered.
_____________________________________{Your POV}
You stared into your former friend's crimson eyes, and felt disappointed when he pulled away from you and released your hands.
"Is it too late to change things?" You choked out, just when Kuriza turned to walk away. You saw his knuckles tense as his fists clenched.
After a long moment of silence, Kuriza turned his head to acknowledge you.
"No... it's not. I am not one to hold grudges and act so cold towards an old but good friend of mine." A smile you were dying to see spread across his face. He turned to you fully and soon embraced you in a tight hug.
"Please, come back to the palace with me?" He asked in a soft tone. "I want to make you my princess."
Your eyes pratically light up at the young prince's offer, and you weren't going to turn it down. It was a childhood dream come true.
"Yes." You took his hand in yours. "I shall be your princess."
