"NOOOO!" Shine screamed as a man aimed his gun directly at her. Before she could react, Yuzuru jumped out from nowhere—shielding her with his whole body.

The bullet struck his chest.
Yuzuru fell to the ground.

Shine collapsed beside him, pressing her hands onto the bleeding wound. Her palms quickly turned warm and wet with blood.

"Why did you do that?!" she cried, voice trembling, tears falling nonstop. She pressed harder on his chest, panic overwhelming her.

"Hana..." Yuzuru whispered. With a shaky hand, he touched Shine's face—wiping her tears with his blood-stained fingers. He smiled weakly.

"You're... such a lovable girl. I think I'm starting to... fall in love with you. If you didn't have Allen... And Shine... Shine wouldn't be happy with that, so she wants me now..." His breathing turned shallow.

"Shh... Yuzuru, don't... don't talk. The ambulance will be here soon... please..."

He inhaled sharply, struggling.

"Thank you... for making me happy... even for a little while... But now... I'll be reunited with Shine again..."

And with one final breath... Yuzuru went still.

"Yuzuru! I'm here! I'm SHINE! Don't leave me!" Shine cried hysterically, holding him tightly.

"Shine, he's gone! We have to go!" Allen grabbed her, trying to pull her away.

"NO! NO!" Shine yanked her arm free and clung to Yuzuru, sobbing uncontrollably—

—then forced her eyes open.

Her body jolted awake, drenched in sweat, tears flooding her eyes.

"Hana?" Allen instantly stood up, worry written across his face. "What are you feeling? What's wrong?"

"Allen—! I saw Yuzuru—He was... he was bleeding... in front of me..." Shine cried, trembling.

Allen pulled her into a calming embrace.
"Shh... Shine, it was just a nightmare. Nothing will happen to him. I promise."

"It felt so real..."

Her crying grew louder.

"Drink this." Allen handed her a cup of warm water. Shine breathed slowly, calmer now.

"So... what did you dream?" Allen asked.

Shine frowned. "Someone shot at me... but Yuzuru shielded me. He got hit in the chest. Then... then he died."

"It's okay, Shine. Yuzuru is already back in Japan with Nam for their competition. He won't be back until August," Allen said, trying to comfort her.

"Actually... yesterday—"

"Yesterday??" Shine cut in, eyes wide.

Allen nodded.

"How long was I asleep?"

"You slept the whole day. And yesterday. And now."

Shine was still trying to process that when Allen continued, hesitant.

"Before Yuzuru and Nam left, they all came here. Javi, Monika, Yuzuru, Nam... but you were still sleeping."

"Did they... know?" Shine asked anxiously.

Allen nodded.

"How?"

"Well... Hyun told Mr. Johnson to excuse you from work. Then Mr. Johnson told Brian. Monika overheard them talking and... she told the boys."
