"What is your relationship with Eda's mother?" I repeated.
"Umm... you know, she... " I knew he was lying, all his expressions gave him away; "She works with me, so that's that." He got nervous, "Why do you ask that anyways?"
"Becauseeeeee," I was about to give out that I saw the message, about Eda, but that would clearly give away that I supposed he was the murderer, so I just came up with a lie "because I saw you two together the other day."
His green eyes showed astonishment, "You did, but I thought noone was... I mean...you did?"
Perfect, I thought. So they were...actually together one of this days. "Yes I did."
"We were just, you know....planning the... you know... the work..that's all" he started sweating.
"Are you hiding something from me?" I knew he was.
"No Lauren, now go back to your room or something, I have to go to work." He stood up and as he lifted his suitcase it fell. Something heavy made a sound inside. "Goodbye Lauren" he said as he went out the door.
Ughh, I needed to find out more, but meanwhile I headed upstairs to talk to Dean, it was already pretty mean of me to kiss him and leave him there.
"Hey Dean," I said. He was on the phone talking to someone. His face looked suspicious, different.
"Wait till I finish," I read his lips. "Yeah.... yeah.... I know..... but aren't you the one supposed to be doing this?.....ok....at 6:00?...I know, I never said I won't do it... you sure? Ok... ok.. bye." He closed the phone.
"Who was that you were talking to?" I asked.
"Ummm.. no one as important as you," he smiled sheepishly.
"Look I'm sorry about me leaving and then-"
"It's ok, I'm the one who is supposed to be sorry for lying to you and making you do that."
"You shouldn't be sorry, I...kissed... you...because I wanted."
"Does that mean you would of kissed me even if I didn't lie about having girlfriend?"
"I never said that, but..."
"Buuuuuuut..?" Dean asked.
"I think we should talk," I answered.
"About you NOT being the murder?"
"No, about us, what we feel, what I feel."
"And that is?..."
I looked at him, his blue eyes looking at mine, expecting for the right answer, I love you; But I remained silent. As much as I tried, pushed, the words didn't come out of my mouth.
"Look, when you are sure," he said "you'll tell me, I know you will, but we can talk about this later, tommorow maybe? I have to help on something so I need to... leave."
Leave? Since when did he prefer doing something other than being with me? And the phone call, he never told me who this was; I know this sounded wrong knowing Dean is the only one who has believed me and helped me through this, but maybe he isn't that inoccent after all.
"Ok, I'll let you know, see you...later?" I was hopeful.
"We'll see about that.." He smiled, hugged me, and left.
