You're Never Safe Alone (ON HOLD)

And The Clock Ticks On

Chapter 8

                "Let him go!" demanded Liz as the others yelled at Ms. Levi.

                 "I still don't have my answer." teased Ms. Levi who quickly provoked Sandy. The four others back themselves a yard away, knowing what would happen next.

                 "Here we go." said Liz as she looked at Yaya. Sandy began to aggressively scream and holler at Ms. Levi and her henchman, only leaving the outcome a disappointment. The five of walk walked forward closer to Ms. Levi as the white-suited man pulled out a pocket knife and held it six inches away from Kevin's neck. The sight of the pocket knife made the five gasps and slowly backed up.

                  "Let's play a game, shall we? You have one minute to make your decision. Every ten seconds, we'll move the knife an inch closer to his neck. If you don't make your choice I'll just cut his throat and bring him with me. So what's your choice gonna be?" snickered Ms. Levi.

                 "What the heck are we gonna do??" whispered Yaya as she took a quick glimpse at Kevin and looked back.

                  "I don't know! We either all go or he goes." said Jahlani as she scratched her arm.

                  "Well, when you think about it, we'd be better off without him." said Sandy causing everyone else to laugh except for Liz.

                   "50!" shouted Ms. Levi as the knife moved an inch closer to Kevin's neck.

                  "That's jacked up, dude. He's about to technically die in the less than 50 seconds and you're making jokes about it." said Liz as she took a quick look at Kevin and back at Sandy.

                  "Liz, I was just Joking!" said Sandy as she gave a  Liz an apologetic look. 

                  "Whatever." Liz sighed as she rolled her eyes. 

                   "40!" shouted Ms. Levi as the blade moved a bit closer. Liz looked back again and saw Ms. Levi teasing her by pointing at Kevin and sliding her hand against her neck. She's going to get it. Liz thought as she turned back and looked at Jahlani. Liz found a foot long stick beside Sandy's feet  and picked it up.

                   "Jahlani! No offense but.. THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!" yelled Liz as she crossed her arms and took another glance at Kevin and Ms. Levi. Jahlani quickly rose up in anger.

                   "YOU GUYS AGREED ON THIS! You were the one to run into the HOUSE!" argued Jahlani. Angrier than before, her whole fist shot up in flames. Liz smiled in relief that her plan was working.

                    "TOUCH THE STICK!" said Liz as she grabbed Jahlani's wrist and made her light the top of the stick.

                    "30! Half A Minute To Go." smirked Ms. Levi as the knife was now half-way.

                     "DON'T TOUCH ME!" screamed Jahlani as she backed up and let go of the stick. Liz backed up a little and threw the flaming stick, making it light Ms. Levi's hair on fire. 

                     "What The HELL LIZ!" shouted Sandy.

                    "Jahlani! What I said wasn't true! I just needed you to light something! I didn't mean it and you know it!" said Liz as she turned around to see the chaos behind her.

                   "GET IT OUT FREAKS!" screamed Ms. Levi as the six men quickly backed up at the sight of the flying stick.

                    "Start running and find a place to hide! I'll meet you there." demanded Liz as she pointed towards the park's gym.

                    "But Liz, how are y-"

                     "Just come on Yaya. It's Liz, she'll know what to do." Sandy had cut off Yadira and pulled her hand and lead the way toward the gym. The white suited man had dropped the knife to go help Ms. Levi, giving Kevin relief.

                      "RUN KEVIN, FOLLOW ME!" shouted Liz as she waved her hands over and waited for him to make it halfway closer to her before she started running to the rest of the group.

                     "Why did you LET GO OF HIM!?" screamed Ms. Levi as she tied her hair into a bun and got up to brush off the grass on her black dress.

                      "It was the only way! The others didn't bother to help you, so I did." said the white suited man.

                      "The LEAST You Could Do Is RUN AFTER THEM! Your whole job relies on this. NOW GO!" screamed Ms. Levi as she pointed towards gym. The white suited man and the six other men started running toward the gym while Ms. Levi took the other way.

                        "We're...Almost...There." panted Liz as they ran into a building that connects to the gym. They entered a room which looked like a hotel lobby, but was the gym's registration room. The Lobby had to hallways on the left and right of the registration desk. The room had dozens chairs lined up on the walls.

                         "Behind the front desk!" whispered Liz as she and Kevin pulled themselves over the counter and hid under the counter inside the desk.

                         "How's was your experience of being a "Dude in Distress" like?" teased Liz as she wiped the sweat from her face.

                          "Shut It, I almost died in the presence of my friends. How's that for experience?" said Kevin as he caught his breath.

                        "Alright, jeez. Cool it Prince Artemis." replied Liz as she got a shove and a laugh from Kevin.

                        "Do you know where the others are?" questioned Kevin as he tied one of his loose shoelaces.

                        "I sent them over her to hide while I made sure you got away. Soooo, not really." answered Liz as she opened her small backpack up, pulling out her phone.

                       "Damn, it's 1:47." said Liz as she began texting Sandy for her location.

                        "Kevin and I made it 2 the building. Where r u guys??" texted Liz as she tapped the send button. In a matter of seconds Sandy responded.

                        "We're in da trophy room, bro. Is any1 hurt?" said Sandy's text. BAM!! The door slammed opened, followed by a bunch of footsteps. Kevin and Liz sat extremely still while the men lurked the lobby.

                         "They're not in here. Let's check in the gym Sir'." said one of the men as the footsteps echoed down what it sounded like the right side hallway. After 3 silent minutes, Kevin and Liz climbed out of the desk and made way towards the left hallways in search of their other friends before the men could reach them...
