Morrigan's P.O.V.
"Come on Yui, open the door. Please?" I asked knocking quietly. It had been three days since Yui had even looked at me or eaten her food. Though I expected her to be upset, I never thought she'd stop eating because she loved food more than she loved stalking people on the Internet.
"No." She replied blocking the door with a chair so I couldn't open it. I sat on the other side of the door and traced the scratches Yui had made after throwing a vase at it. "Do you want something to eat? Anything at all?"
No response.
"Well I'm making some rice, just something small to start with. Do you want chopsticks or a fork to eat it with?"
There was a rustling of paper then I saw a post it note pushed under the door.
Chopsticks
This was going to be a long day.
*****
We were sitting together on the guest bed of my small house eating our rice when out of nowhere Yui rushed out of the room.
"Don't come after me." Was the only thing she said to me before she left. I cleaned up the rice Yui had spilled on the bed sheets and put some of my own rice in her bowl. The second I finished she came back coughing hard. I patted her back. "You okay?" She frowned and hung her head down. I noticed just then that she was still wearing the clothes from the day Angel broke up with her. "You should take a bath or something Yui, you're still wearing the same clothes-"
"I know. Thank you for your concern." Yui said sighing with grief. I gave her a white night gown that I found in my moms closet and watched her grab a hair brush and barricade herself in the bathroom. After sighing I flopped down on Yui's bed listening to the sound of water from next door and fell asleep to the peacefulness knowing that Yui was slowly getting better.

I woke up to an alarm clock ringing six o'clock indicating that it was time to start making dinner. To my surprise I could hear the oven ringing. I walked downstairs to see Yui making pizza in the oven.
"Ready to eat?" She asked me wearing an apron.
"S-sure." I said smiling, she actually was healing.
We ate while watching tv in my small living room.
"Where are your parents? Why aren't they ever home?" Yui asked placing her plate on the small table in front of her.
I sighed and set my plate down as well with my food barely touched. I was thinking about the same thing as we were eating lunch and dinner. "I don't know." I said resting my hand against my cheek. "They haven't been home in almost a month, but they keep paying the bills somehow. I think they come by in the night and pick them up, but they don't tell me anything so... I don't know." I said smiling a little. "Mori, do you miss them?" Yui asked while pouring soda into paper cups. "Not really, I don't really have anything to miss. We've never really spent time together. For about six days I didn't even notice they weren't home."
"How the hell do you still have food in your fridge then?" She asked.
"I went to the store duh. I used the "emergency money" that my mom left behind in a cup taped to the inside of a cabinet. I know she just used that money for when she ran out of money in her purse and was too lazy to go to the bank. There's still about five hundred dollars in there but if they're gone for a few more months I think I'll need to get a job."
"That's nuts, you're only thirteen Mori."
"I know, but what other choice do I have Yui?" I slowly ran my hands through my hair thinking. "There's really nothing left for me here in this life. At least I think that. But I just can't give up. Not yet." Yui looked at me, as if she wanted to speak but lowered her gaze and picked up another slice of pizza and sat down in her little nest of pillows and blankets that she made on the right side of my couch. Even at that simple thing I had to smile. When Yui was sad, it was sometimes adorable to watch.

Zena: Hey Mori, how are you?
I'm alright I guess, my friend is sorta going through a rough time right now.
Zena: What happened to her?
Just girl drama that's all. Anyway how are you?
Zena: I'm actually really happy. Mori, I really like you. I used to see you at school and think we would never be more than acquaintances, then we were friends, soon best friends, and now I don't know what we are but I know it'll be something great. Do you believe that?
It took a moment for me to answer, but considering that I might get another chance at making someone happy meant everything to me.
Yes.
