Chapter 12: Battle at Karlock Plains (Part 2)

The Minotaurs came like a tidal wave as they crash onto us. Drayfus went to the front to at least slow their advance but he was tossed away by the strength and momentum of this giant beasts.

Our formation was destroyed in just a few seconds and many of the Scarlet Drakes instantly fell down as they were stabbed by the Giant Horns of the Minotaurs.

I rode with Aeren on her horse to try and get out of their way but.. They were too fast. Too fast and way too strong. We were in a complete disadvantage especially with Drayfus tired and weakened from the earlier battle.

Aeren and I together with the horse we've been riding violently crashed with the head of a Minotaur killing the horse and forcing us to dismount. We landed on our knees and feet before eyeing the Minotaur now clearly targeting us.

"Kuzen.. Fight or flight?" Aeren asked nervously while knocking back an arrow.

"Obviously we fight!! I won't let us be killed by a goddamned stupid Bull!"

I charged straight to the Bull in full speed. I heard Aeren say something behind me. "You're too reckless!!" She yelled.

But just as she yelled that, an arrow from behind me pierced the chest of the Minotaur and it released a mighty roar! [Roooaar!!]. It's roar was a clear indication that it was in pain, and so I took the chance to slide beneath it's legs and slashed it on it's back in an upward motion!

I saw Aeren shoot another arrow and it hits the Minotour straight at it's head. The Minotaur lost it's balance as it fell on it's back. I quickly side-stepped to avoid being crushed by this Gigantic Bastard.

I looked at it, straight in it's eye. It was still alive. A few seconds later, it started swinging it arms frantically, left and right trying to reach out for anything it could crush. I held my blade preparing for an overhead stab.

I jumped up then stabbed it's face as I land on it's chest. He stopped moving afterwards. Aeren walked behind me after I climbed down.

"Kuzen! This is bad! Really bad! We can't hold these guys.. The Guild's almost annihilated!" Her voice was in clear panic. Even I don't know what to do. Every time we look around, hope seems to go out. Then, loud wings came from above.

"Retreat! I'll hold them back as much as I can! Evacuate the Villagers!" Drayfus ordered while riding his Drake as he swings his sword coated with blazing fire burning the Minotaurs. They stopped charging now and they can't reach Drayfus. He can do this!

"Kuzen! Let's help him!" Said Aeren while she climbed on top of a huge rock and prepared her arrow. "No need to tell me!" I raised my blade then charged under the Minotaurs. They couldn't see me as I slashed their legs, all their attention was focused on Drayfus alone.

Aeren shot the one's I slashed making them lose balance and fall on their butts. Drayfus burned them alive as they struggle to get back up.

All was going well when suddenly-"Shit! Kuzen!" I heard Aeren scream from behind me. I turned my head around to see her being grabbed by a Minotaur holding a large battle axe. "Don't you dare touch her!" I quickly sprinted to where they were while tightening my grip on my blade.

The Minoutar was pulling Aeren's left leg. Aeren shot an arrow but the Minotaur guarded with it's horns and the arrow flew back. As it raised it's giant axe, I came to the rescue.

I sliced the Minotaur's arm of with a single slash, then followed with an X slash on it's chest. I quickly slid beneath it's feet then jumped onto it's back. I stabbed it in the back of it's head as it screamed in agony. "This is what you get for hurting my Bestfriend!" I twisted the blade cruelly before proceeding to behead him.
