Chapter 4 - Bad News, Bad Day, Bad Life

Lorin

-

"So, do you guys, like, HAVE to eat? Or is it more of just something to do." I ask, curious.

"No, we don't need to eat. But, it is fun to taste the different flavors." Modi replies. Hm, interesting.

"Well then, do you guys want some food? I'm hungry." Hey, it's always good to be courteous. I'm just so fucking thankful that I'm now completely comfortable around them - my stutter barely shows up now. That would have been the worst thing ever, to constantly have a stutter around them.

They both nod their heads furiously, and I chuckle at their antics. They're such kids, it's hard to imagine them as all powerful Gods, that millions of people worship. I'm still not one hundred percent sure about the whole ordeal, but there's no turning back now. Though, I have this strange feeling that something is going to happen.. Good or bad, I don't know, but I feel something coming.

I walk into the kitchen to see what there is. It looks like mother did some shopping before she left, how considerate, and a first. I decide on homemade pizza and pull out all the ingredients, which thankfully we have.

I'm working on making the pizza, and I can feel both of them looking at me. I just ignore it, and try to focus on the task at hand. I swear, they have x-ray vision with how intensely they're staring.. I'm trying so hard not to blush, or fidget around too much. It's like they're right beside me, touching me, feeling me.. I swear if this is some weird mind power of theirs...

Just focus on the pizza sauce, Lorin...

"Don't you have something better to do than stare at my ass?" I say while continuing making food, not missing a beat. Gotta keep it calm and cool, calm and cool, I repeat to myself.

"Nope."

"Well, I could be in it."

I turn around and throw a spoonful of pizza sauce at Modi, and hit him right on his nose. Enki is practically rolling on the floor laughing, and I'm not far from that.

"Y-y-your face!!! It's priceless!" I'm laughing so hard I can barely talk. He's just sitting there frozen, not knowing what to do. All of a sudden, he stands up and walks over to me. Immediately, I start backing up. One thing about Modi is that you can see his emotions in his eyes, and right now they're telling me to run before I get tickled to death. It's not a deadly serious gaze, but it's powerful enough to know that something is about to happen.

I've backed myself into a corner; I can't go anywhere. "Trapped, little Lorin?" He questions with a smirk. He grabs the back of my neck and mushes his face with mine.

Wait, mushes?

Well, that's not what I expected.

He's just rubbing his face all over mine, getting the sauce everywhere.

"There, that's fair now."

"What.. how is that... vile being!" I say. I turn around and grab paper towels to wipe off my face. I grab a few more for Modi, but he's already turning around. I reach out and tug the end of his braid, making him turn around to face. Though, he is way taller than me, I pull him over to the counter and I sit on it, so now I can reach his face without having to stretch so much. I focus on gently cleaning his face, and getting all the sauce off without getting any in his eyes or nose (No way am I digging in there!).

"There. All done." I say. I push him away from the counter and jump down. Good thing the pizza is ready to cook, so I just pop it into the oven. I turn around to find Modi and Enki staring at me like I'm some sort of alien. "What?" I say, somewhat on the defense.
