*Shay's POV*

It had already been about a month since Josh had left and sadly, I was back in University. Woopty-effin'- doo! I couldn't concentrate on any of my studying without Josh. My mind was always somewhere else. I was currently sitting in my economics class, almost dozing off. I found myself slipping in and out of conciousness, not being able to concentrate on what my professor was talking about. I was about to finally doze off when I felt a ball of paper being launched at my head. I whipped around and found Kassie, who was three rows away, glaring at me and pointing at the professor.

I snapped back into reality and focused on my professor talk about the importance of big buinesses. I took down a bunch of notes, suddenly remembering that my finals were coming up very soon. When the bell rung, I packed up everything on my table and shoved it in my backpack. I heard a few heavy footsteps leading towards me and I looked up to find my professor, Dr. Grenald.

"Good afternoon, Dr. Grenald. Is there something I can help you with?" I asked, leaning on the table. I didn't really get talked to very often in class, so this kind of concerned me. What if he caught me dozing off?

"Actually, Shay, I wanted to make sure you were okay. During the lecture, you seemed... Out of it." Dr. Grenald said, concern flickering in his eyes. I smiled sheepishly and shook my head.

"Oh, it's nothing, professor. I just had... Someone on my mind." Dr. Grenald was one of those teachers who you can talk to without feeling ashamed. Even though his late 50's were upon him, he still had a pretty good idea what to say.

"It's not easy with your significant other on tour while you're stuck in class?" I gave Dr. Grenald a surprised look, causing him to chuckle. "Shay, I think everyone knows you're dating that Devine fellow. Have you thought about taking a gap year? To get your head out of everything?"

I nodded slowly, processing the idea of actually taking a gap year. "It sounds interesting. Thanks for the advice, professor. If you would now excuse me, I'm going to get some lunch."

As I walked down to the food court of the University, I thought about the gap year. A year just being home, relaxing... Possibly with Josh... I snapped out of it and got in line for some Thai food, like I usually did. I quickly got my food and walked over to the girls, who saved me a seat, like they always did.

"Hey, Shay!" Emily said, eating what seemed to be a taken apart burger. I looked over at her tray and found a mountain of onions that was quietly being devoured by Jazmine and Tishana. Emily hated onions and she would never eat them.

"Hey girls!" I said, sighing as I sat down beside Jazmine. I managed to catch a glimpse of Jazmine's tofu and grimanced. "Jaz, how the hell can you eat that stuff?"

Jazmine rolled her eyes at me and shook her head. "I'm vegetarian, Shay! I can't eat all the meat you guys normally eat! I mean, look at the amount of meat you have all on your plate."

I gasped dramatically and looked hurt. "Jazmine, leave my orange chicken alone!"

To get back at her, I took a piece of chicken in my chopsticks and waved it in Jazmine's face. She squealed and tucked herself behind Kassie, who laughed until she turned a shade of red that was common to her. I chuckled and ate the chicken. I looked at Jillian and saw two huge plates of what looked like Irish food.

"Jill, what's with all the food?" I asked, shoving some Chow Mein in my mouth. Jillian and smiled, putting her silverware down.

"Well, I'm eating for two now and I have to get used to Irish food if Niall's gonna be cooking for me." She said, eating whatever the hell was on her plate. I looked around and saw that Tishana was disgusted.
