Chapter 10

Chapter 10: Safe

They came for me.....My family. I knew they would. I see them now, running towards me. Their faces are first covered in panic, but then they see me, and relief sweeps over them.

 "Oh my god Pierce, we've found you!" My mom says breathless, almost in tears and she pulls me into a hug.

"Your mother has been worried sick about you..." Now, even my dad is choking up....He puts his arms around both of us.

Everyone is talking to me, I can hardly make out what they are saying. Roxanne is busy telling me that I "should have at least called" to let them know where I was going. Brad is joking about how he didn't even notice I was gone. Riley shoves her iPhone in my face. The tab is open to her facebook page where there is a picture of my face on her wall. Next to it there is a message, it says:

Missing: Pierce Allen.Age: 17

Hair: Dark BrownEyes: Green

Height: 6'0Last scene: Wednesday

If anyone sees him please call this number ***-****!!!!!!!!!!

As for the younger kids, they are all hopping up and down screaming, yanking on my arms and legs.

Pretty soon the whole family is hugging, and jumping at me, nearly knocking me over. I imagine this looks somewhat like a football team after they have won the Super Bowl.

"We looked everywhere for you!" Reese squeals as I pick her up in my arms.

"I called you like a gazillion time and you never answered!" Riley complains with her hands on her hips.

"I tried calling you guys too but it wouldn't go through!"

 "The important thing is that you're alright and still in one piece!"

 "How did you find me?!"

Reese interrupts. "Wait! We have a surprise for you!!!" 

Just then Sadie walks from behind the corner. She's looks more beautiful then ever. We run, collide, and wrap each other in our arms. She locks her legs around my torso and we embrace even tighter. Like a scene out of a movie....

"Pierce I was so worried.....I didn't think I'd see you again."

"I would have found some way..." I tell her, still holding our embrace.

"But they said you could never return...".

"Who told you that?" I ask, pulling her away to see her face. Her eyes are wet and longing.

She takes my face in her hands. "Pierce don't disappear again."

"Sadie I----"

Before I can finish, she slips her arms around me and holds me even more tense then before. It seems as if she is determined to never loosen her grasp.

"Never let go Pierce. Don't let them take you from me."

"Who Sadie? Who are you talking about?"

"Them."

I turn my head in the direction if her gaze. I hear her whisper desperately, "No Pierce...Don't let them....Don't let go!" I can feel Sadie's grip stiffen, squeezing the air out of my lungs. Her nails are digging into the skin on my back.

"Never let go..............."
